Step 3: Police Verification

The next step is police verification. The license seeker must apply for police inspection via a prescribed application, i.e. Form-I.

If the license seeker is a company or Association of Persons, every official, such as partners/director, must provide individual verification forms.

Please note that the amendment of PSARA Act 2005, released in 2019, has got rid of the requirement pertaining to manual police vetting of aforesaid officials while applying for a license.

Step 4: Filling of PSARA Application

The license seeker must file the PSARA license application with the controlling authority of the respective state. Once filed, the application shall be subject to a thorough vetting process after the authority receives the Police NOC.

The Act has a different provision for the former police personnel and ex-servicemen, which is as follow;

  • 40 hours of classroom instructions
  • 16 hours of field training
