Choose The Required Certification

The first step in obtaining an ISO certification is to select the appropriate ISO certification a business is looking to obtain and the requisite certification agency to grant the certificate. The applicant must ensure that the organization complies with the ISO 2768-1 standard.

Filing of Application

After the applicant has decided on the ISO standard and the certification agency, she is required to file the requisite application form. The applicant shall develop an action plan to correct the errors or deficiencies as have been pointed out by the ISO auditor and make requisite corrections and changes to ensure that the mechanical equipment complies with the ISO 2768-1 standard.

On-site Audit by the ISO Auditor

After the applicant has made all the requisite changes based on the initial review by the ISO auditor, an on-site review shall be conducted by the auditor in a two-step process.

The auditor shall conduct the inspection to review and assess the corrections made by the applicant and check if they conform to the required standards under ISO-2768-1. If the modifications made are unsatisfactory by the auditor and don't conform with the standards established by ISO, she shall categorize the organization as a major non-compliant or minor non-compliant. The applicant shall pay due attention to the non-compliances and make required changes in the production process and techniques to become compliant.

After the applicant has made the corrections, the ISO auditor shall conduct a final audit. The auditor shall assess whether all the deficiencies have been rectified and removed and whether the production process and mechanical equipment are ISO-compliant. After the ISO auditor is satisfied with the sufficiency of the changes made, she shall prepare a final audit report and send it for the Registrar's consideration.

Grant Of ISO Certificate by the Registrar

The Registrar shall go through the report sent by the auditor and check whether the organization complies with the requirement mentioned under the ISO 2768 standard. Once the Registrar is satisfied, it shall grant the IO 2768-1 certificate to the applicant.
