On 30th August 2022, the Department of Legal Metrology, under the authorisation of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, has issued a total of 63 Show Cause Notices to Producers and Importers of Weights and Measurement Instruments in regard to seeking details concerning the maintenance of compliance measures.
The notices were issued to the producers, importers, and sellers of e-commerce platforms, seeking details of compliance measures in regard to approval of model, manufacturing, importers, and dealer license, along with the verification of weighing scales.
