The rules stated in Food Safety Standards Authority Regulations, 2011, are now to be changed by the Central Government of India. In the current scenario, the infant food products are now to be sold in accordance with the latest proposed rules for obtaining the BIS Certification. The issued notification states that, “No person shall manufacture, store, store or display food for animal nutrition except where BIS standards are available, subject to the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification mark.”
