On 30th August 2022, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issued a notification in regard to the proposed amendment in accordance with Category 5B of the Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) List regarding exporting of Drones/UAVs and General Authorisation for Export of Drones/UAVs (GAED).
In accordance with the notification, the SCOMET Category 5B now states, “Unmanned aerial vehicles including cruise missiles, target drones and reconnaissance drones and related equipment, and specially designed components”.
