CPCB fines Gurugram Developer for Rs 100 crore

The Central pollution control Board (CPCB) has fines of Rs. 100 crore on Ansal Group for the violation of numerous environmental norms. CPCB issued a letter on June 7, asking the developer to pay the penalty in 15 days. If the developer fails, additional charges shall be levied on it as per the Law.

The Developer Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Limited are said to have committed several violations in pursuance of its project, Sushant Lok Phase 1. Starting, the group had failed to obtain environmental clearance as required under the impact Assessment Notification (EIA), 2006. Next, the developer failed to obtain permission from the Haryana State Pollution Control Board to establish and start the project.
