  • FSSAI Central License: Food Business Operators or FBOs having a yearly turnover of more than Rs. 20 crores must get the FSSAI Central License. For this License, the applicant has to file a Form-B application form.

Documents Required for FSSAI License for Bars and Beverages in India

Following is the list of crucial documents required for Bars and Beverages:

  • Documents for FSSAI Basic Registration:
    1. Photo id and address proof of the owner;
    2. Business constitution certificate such as Shop & Establishment License, Partnership Deed, Certificate of Incorporation, or other Business Registration Certificate;
    3. List of food products manufactured/processed;
    4. Proof of possession of business premises such as Rental Agreement, Utility Bills, NOC or No Objection Certificate from the owner of the rented premises, etc.;
    5. Details of the bank account;
    6. Food safety management system plan;
    7. Supporting documents, if required, such as NOC by Panchayat or Municipality, Health NOC, License copy from the manufacturer, etc.;
    8. FSSAI Declaration Form.
  • Documents for FSSAI State License:
    1. Identity proof of the concerned person such as Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, etc.;
    2. Any Government Registration Certificates (Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership Deed, GST Registration Number, Shop & Establishment Registration, Trade License, etc.);
    3. Nature of Business;
    4. FSSAI Declaration Form;
    5. If the applicant is a Private Limited Company/Partnership Firm, then they should provide an MOA (Memorandum of Association) and AOA (Article of Association) or Partnership Deed copy.
  • Documents for FSSAI Central License:
    1. Rental Agreement of Business Premises;
    2. Identity proof of the concerned person, such as Driving License, Aadhar Card, Voter ID, or Passport;
    3. If the applicant is a Private Limited Company/Partnership Firm, then they should provide an MOA (Memorandum of Association) and AOA (Article of Association) or Partnership Deed copy;
    4. Authority Letter from the Company Letterhead to the concerned person stating that he or she is authorised to file FSSAI Application;
    5. In the case of manufacturers, the list of food categories desired to be manufactured ;
    6. Any Government Registration Certificates (Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership Deed, GST Registration Number, Shop & Establishment Registration, Trade License, etc.);
    7. Import Export Code (IEC) Certificate (for the category of Import & Export IE Code is mandatory).

Online Procedure for FSSAI License for Bars and Beverages

Following is the step-by-step online procedure for FSSAI License for Bars and Beverages:

  1. The applicant can get FSSAI Registration online by filling & submitting the application form for FSSAI License for Bars and Beverages, i.e., Form-A (for Basic Registration) or Form-B (Application for State & Central License) on the FoSCoS[1] portal.
  2. The FSSAI Registration application form must be accompanied by the documents. The documents must be uploaded online to the FoSCoS portal during filing the application form or submitted to the FSSAI Department along with the application form physically.
  3. The FSSAI Registration form can be accepted/it may be rejected by the Department within a week from the date of receipt of the Registration application, either physically or online via the portal. If the application form for the Registration is rejected, it has to be intimated to the application in writing.
  4. The Department will examine the documents submitted.
  5. The FSSAI Department may conduct an inspection or vetting process of the food premises before issuing the FSSAI Registration Certificate, if necessary.
  6. The Food Department may conduct an inspection or vetting process of the food premises before issuing the FSSAI Certificate if required.
  7. If the Department is satisfied, then it will grant an FSSAI Registration Certificate along with the Registration Number and the applicant’s photo & email id.

The FSSAI License is issued for a validity of 1 year to 5 years, so the business or FBO must apply for the renewal of the FSSAI License 30 days prior to the expiry of the current License.
