BIS Certification for Webcam

The BIS Certification for Webcams complies with Indian Standard IS 616:2017, which addresses the safety requirements for video, audio, and similar electronic apparatus. Before being produced, sold, or imported into the Indian market, all models and brands of webcams (finished products) must obtain a BIS certification for Webcam. The BIS registration is only given to webcam manufacturers in India; no other dealers, traders, or distributors are eligible.

Technical Specifications of Webcams

Companies and businesses that conduct meetings worldwide via video conference call purchase webcams. The price of a webcam is directly correlated to its resolution, frame rate, autofocus, lens, built-in microphone (most modern webcams have this feature), recording option, and design.

The picture or video resolution is one of the most important factors to consider before making a webcam purchase. This is because it guarantees to transmit and receive a sharp, high-definition image. The camera’s number of shots in a single second to send as video is known as the frame rate, which is the second crucial specification. Typically, a top-notch webcam records at 30 frames per second. The two types of webcam lenses are glass lenses and plastic lenses. Plastic lenses, which are lower quality than glass lenses, are typically found in webcams with standard specifications and quality.

The two basic shapes of a webcam are the base, which can be placed on any flat surface, and the clip-on, which can be mounted on top of the screen. Webcams come in a variety of colours and sizes.
