The PSARA, 2005 regulates all the activities carried out by an organisation that provides the security guard service. As per the act, any security agency that carries out these businesses without obtaining the requisite license would not be allowed to operate as per the act's requirements. Any establishment that provides security services of private security guards for offices, malls and other establishments is known as a private securities agency. Therefore, the private security agency must obtain the PSARA license before operations.Hence the applicant would have to apply to the respective state where the applicant resides. The state authority would provide the license.

Although the production of necessary papers may vary from state to state depending upon its guidelines, the following are some common necessary papers you would require to attach along with the application.

The process involved in obtaining a PSARA license in Karnataka

Qualifying Necessary Papers

The organisation or establishment must have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with any respective state government-approved institute that provides training and other forms of services to securities.

Police verification

Application Submission

The PSARA application is processed only after getting the NOC from the respective police authority. The PSA controlling authority, based on the police report, may either approve the license or denies with an explanation.

Validity of PSARA license in Karnataka

The PSARA License is valid for 5 years from the date of getting the license. It is not permanent. It can be subject to renewal based on the requirement of the security agency if they wish to continue after the validity.

Suspension and cancellation of PSARA license in Karnataka
