NOC from Karnataka State Pollution Control Board

The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board for the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution was established by the Government of Karnataka on September 21, 1974, in accordance with the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. The Water Act will address the prevention and control of water contamination, as well as the preservation or restoration of water quality. Following the passage of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act in 1981, enforcement was delegated to the aforementioned Board. As a result, in 1985, the Board was renamed the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. The Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act of 1981 is a law that addresses the prevention, control, and abatement of air pollution.

In addition to the aforementioned Acts, the Board is enforcing the following Rules and Notifications enacted under the Environment (Protection) Act of 1986:

  • Rules for the Management and Transboundary Movement of Hazardous and Other Wastes, 2016.
  • Notification of Environmental Impact Assessment, 2006.
  • Bio-Medical Waste Management Regulations, 2016
  • Plastic Waste Management Regulations, 2016
  • Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules of 2000.
  • Construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules 2016
  • Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016
  • E-waste (Management) Regulations, 2016
  • Amendment Rules for Batteries (Management and Handling), 2010.
  • The 1991 Public Liability Insurance Act.
  • Notification of Fly Ash in 1999 and 2008.
