Eligibility criteria for businesses / Directors / Security officer

• Any One person company established as per the Company Act/Private limited company/ LLP/ partnership firm can start a private security agency business in India.
• The person who starts the PSA business should be an Indian and attained major
• The applicant should have good financial stability (a copy of Income tax returns has to submit as financial proof) to run the business.
• The applicant must not be jailed for any criminal offences
• The applicant should have a previous employee's assurance of character certificate and not be disqualified from central/state government services.
• The licensee should not be in contact with any anti-government organisations.
• The licensee should have the desired physical standards.

Security Training is required to become eligible for a PSARA license in Jammu and Kashmir

The controlling authority frames the training syllabus required for training the security guards and supervisors in accordance with National Skill Qualification Framework. The completion of this training can take upto 20 working days. The following subjects the security guards need to be trained in.

• The most important part of training is the code of conduct, especially wearing a uniform perfectly.
• Physical fitness training and security training regarding security for assets, apartments, and commercial establishments.
• Training how to act during Firefighting and crowd management
• How to examine Id cards like passports and smart cards
• Should know about reading and understanding English alphabets and numerals.
• Identification of improvised explosive devices in emergency
• Knowledge of First-Aid and Crisis response.

Documents needed to get a PSARA license in Jammu and Kashmir

• Passport Size Photo (soft copy) of all the Directors

Process that needs to be followed to get a PSARA license in Jammu and Kashmir

Organise the documents

The initial step in obtaining a PSARA License is to identify and collect all the essential documents such as PAN Card, TAN, GST Registration and Registration under the Shops and of each director or shareholder. Once the documents are collected, the application can be filed online on the official portal.

MOU between applicant and training institute

Signing an MOU with the government-authorised training institutes is necessary to provide training to its candidates.

Police verification report

The police verify the application containing all the organisation's details and finally submit the report to the controlling authority.

Grant of PSARA License

Once the NOC from the police authority is submitted to the concerned officer of  PSARA, after getting the report, the officer will examine the application and grant or reject the license.

Validity and renewal of PSARA license in Jammu and Kashmir

The valid license starts after issuing the application and is valid for five years. The renewal can be done 45 days before its expiry.
