The Gautam Buddha Nagar food safety department has taken the initiative to bring all the food carts and stalls under the basic registration of the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India.
Any person who wishes to start a Food Business needs to get a mandatory registration as stated by the FSSAI norms.
The food safety officer Mr Sanjay Sharma said that the registration drive carried out by him in the city has registered 18,000 vendors and outlets with an annual turnover of less than 12 lakh. He has appealed to other vendors to follow suit and get registered as soon as possible. Sharma continued that once the people get registered, the department will get their aadhar and other relevant details with which they can be monitored effectively. These vendors can then be regulated according to the norms, and in case there are any complaints, the department will take strict action against the registered outlets.
