The Ministry of Textiles issued a notification directing its reference to implement BIS Standard, IS 17266:2019 for Textiles, where the Viscose Stable Fibre is deemed mandatory through QCO.
The notification specifies that the Industry has informed that all Viscose Staple Fibre Manufacturing Plants in India have been issued the BIS License through the Bureau of Indian Standards on the explicit condition that they are to mark the entire or substantial production conforming as per the Indian Standards.
