On 06th April 2023, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Issued Clarification in Regard to the Import of Dairy Products such as Ghee and Butter.
There were requests from various dairy cooperatives for the import of saved dairy products milk fat and powder in order to fulfill the rising demand and take into account that the supply of milk in the next lean summer season may be reduced.
If the circumstances call for it, the import may be carried out to make it easier for the dairy cooperatives to satisfy summertime demand. But, it will be made sure that it only goes through NDDB in that scenario, and the needy Unions may be provided the stocks at market value after a thorough evaluation.
