It covers a wide range of products such as chemicals used in industry, science, and photography, artificial resins, unprocessed plastics, soldering preparations, adhesives for use in industry, putties, and other paste fillers.
The products falling under trademark class 1 cannot be directly sold to customers. However, the products falling under class 1 in trademark can be directly sold to manufacturers, industries, and researchers.
Class 1 of trademark, which covers chemical products, is widely used across various industries. It helps businesses establish a unique identity in the marketplace by protecting their chemical-based products under a recognized trademark category. Trademark Registration Class 1 offers several key benefits, as discussed below:
Exclusive Rights

Protection Against Infringement
Trademark registration class 1 protects against infringement or unauthorized use of the registered trademark. It enables companies to use a similar name for their chemical products, seeking legal remedies.
Deterrent Effect
Trademark registration class 1 serves as a powerful deterrent against unauthorized usage of similar trademarks for related chemical goods or services. It helps prevent competitors from copying or imitating their trademarks, thereby maintaining brand integrity and market position.
Enhanced Credibility
Trademark registration class 1 enhances the credibility of the goods or services in the eyes of the customers and other stakeholders. It creates a distinct brand identity, making it easier to recognize trust and chemical products for the customers and industries where product, safety, quality, and authenticity matter.
Competitive Advantage

The process to register trademark class 1 is as discussed below:
The applicants are initially required to conduct an initial trademark search for any identical or similar mark already prevailing with the Trademark Registry. The trademark search directed to the Trademark Registry Website enables finding a unique name for the owner of the business.
After completion of the trademark search, the application for trademark registration, along with the documents, must be filed with the Trademark Registrar. However, the application for trademark registration must be filed through the official website or physical application to the nearest Trademark Registry Office.
Once the trademark application is filed with the Trademark Registrar, an Application Allotment Number is issued within 2-3 working days. This number allows the applicant to track the status of the application online. After receiving the Trademark Application Allotment Number, the owner can legally use the ™ (TM) symbol next to their logo, indicating that the trademark is under registration.
Furthermore, the trademark application must be sent to the Trademark Officer at the Trademark Registry Office for review. The officer is authorized to examine the application to ensure its accuracy and compliance with trademark laws. Based on the review, a Trademark Examination Report is issued, detailing any objections or concerns regarding the application.
Once the trademark application is approved, it is published in the Trademark Journal, which includes all trademarks accepted by the Trademark Registrar. The journal is published weekly, allowing the public to review and raise any objections within the prescribed period.
In case no objections are raised against the trademark application after its publication in the Trademark Journal, the Trademark Registrar will proceed with the registration. Upon approval, a Trademark Certificate is issued, granting the applicant exclusive rights to use the trademark.
