On 18th August 2022, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), a statutory body established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, part of the Trade and International Cooperation Division, issued a notification in regard to clarification of the FSSAI’s requirement of AGMARK Certification for Imported Food Products.
The notification was issued with reference to the advisory issued vide letter no. 1-1800/FSSAI/Imports/2019 dated 07th July 2020 in regard to the requirement of AGMARK Certification prior to importing Blended Edible Vegetable Oils (BEVO).
