Ethylene Oxide, or EO or EtO, is a low-temperature gaseous process and one of the most common ways to sterilize a range of healthcare products or medical devices in a safe, tightly controlled, and highly regulated process, such as one-use devices. It is critical to avoid infections and ensure patients’ safety during surgeries and medical treatments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethylene Oxide products are certified with the ISI Mark under IS 5573:1984, established by BIS, to assure safety requirements and product quality. These products must obtain a BIS certificate before being sold or used in the Indian market. This standard ensures that chemical is tested and used under conditions that mitigate risks and act as a shield for workers and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) is the Indian national standard body. It is responsible for the overall development of standardization, marking, and product quality checks. The Bureau of Indian Standards issued the BIS certificate. The BIS certificate indicates a third party, i.e., BIS assurance of the product’s safety, quality, and reliability to the customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
