any transaction, dealing or contract in respect\nof any goods, class of goods or undertakings shall be made by such weight,\nmeasure or number as may be prescribed under the Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 Certificate?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following is the list of individuals who needs to register and get the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/legal-metrology-act-registration\">Legal Metrology Certificate<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Importing\/Manufacturing\/Packaging\nof Packaged Goods Registration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Rule 27 of the Legal Metrology (Packaged\nand Commodities) Rules, 2011, states that every importer, maker, or packer must\nregister with the Legal Metrology Department to get the desired license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Importing Weights and\nMeasurements Registration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section 19 of the Legal Metrology Act<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>No person or organization has the power to\nimport any weights or measures unless registered with the Director of the Legal\nMetrology Department or in any authorized manner with the required fees paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section\n38 of the Legal Metrology Act<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each person or any organization has the power to import or manufacture any weights or measures without being registered under the Act. It ensures that the measuring instruments and the weights are in good functioning condition and are under regulations supporting fair trade practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Helps To Get Government Funds<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Excise\nduties on products manufactured, sold, imported and exported and tax on\nmeasurements are utilized by the government to generate money. The Legal\nMetrology Act makes sure that the government and businesses are treated fairly\nwhen it comes to tax payments and encourages a positive approach towards the\ntraders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reduces Trade Technical Trade\nBarriers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Legal\nMetrology Act reduces the burden of technical restrictions and doubt and helps\nto improve measuring confidence and clarity among traders. Using the Legal\nMetrology Act, a merchant can avoid unnecessary hurdles in the adoption,\napplication, and assessment of technical rules, standards, and conformity\nassessment procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Increase Consumer Trust<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When the\nconsumers realize they are receiving a product that complies with the norms and\nlaws, their trust and faith in the business grow, leading to a healthy and\nstrong trading relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Criteria_for_Standard_Weight_Measure_or_Numeral\"><\/span>Criteria for Standard Weight, Measure or Numeral<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the Legal Metrology Act, the weights and measures should possess the standards prescribed here. <strong>Section 10 under Legal Metrology Act, 2009<\/strong>, conforms that only the approved standard weights and measures can be used for transaction purposes only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Any\nweight or measure used by the business conforms to the standard unit of such\nweight or measure and also conforms to the provisions of section 7 as are\napplicable to the standard weight or measure. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any\nnumeral that conforms to section 6 shall be considered a standard numeral. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No\nweights, measures or numerals other than the standard weight, measure or\nnumeral shall be used as a standard weight, measure or numeral in the\ntransaction. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No\nweights or measures shall be manufactured or imported unless it conforms to the\nstandards of weight or measure specified under section 8. These provisions\nshall not apply to the manufacturer who has done exclusively for export or for\nany scientific investigation or research.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Can_Constitute_Standard_Weights_And_Measure\"><\/span>What Can Constitute Standard Weights And Measure?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>The\nbase units of weights and measures that are specified in section 5 of the Act\nshall only be considered standard units of weights and measures. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The\nbase unit of numeration or numbers specified in section 6 shall be considered\nthe standard unit of numeration. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For\nthe purpose of deriving the value of base and other units mentioned in section\n5 of the Act, the Union Government shall prepare or cause to be prepared\nobjects or equipment in such manner as may be prescribed in the Act.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The\nphysical characteristics, configuration, constructional details, materials,\nequipment, performance, tolerances, period of re-verification, and methods or\nprocedures of tests should be as prescribed in the Act.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Legal Metrology creates the uniformity of weights and measures and measuring units along with trade and commerce related to weights, measures or numbers and the goods sold and distributed via weighing, measurement and numbers.
