Many outstanding consumer complaints that were\nbeing adjudicated in consumer courts around the country could not be addressed\nwithout the help of this statute. It offers techniques and resources for\npromptly addressing client problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main objective of the Consumer Protection Act of 2019 is to protect consumers&#8217; rights by establishing organizations for the timely and effective management and settlement of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/consumer-complaint\">consumer complaints<\/a><\/strong>. The law allows for the formation of councils to inform and encourage consumer awareness of dishonest business practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A complaint may be made in\naccordance with the act in situations involving unfair trade practices,\nrestricted trade practices, unfair contracts, the higher price demanded by the\nseller, the sale of items that pose a risk to life and property, and other\nsituations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If The Relevant Forum Rules In Favors Of The Aggrieved Party, It May Issue One Or More Of The Following Directives To The Opposing Party:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Repair the damaged items or correct the service flaw.<\/li><li>Replacement of the faulty item with a new one<\/li><li>Refund the consumer&#8217;s purchase price for the item or service.<\/li><li>Provision of monetary compensation for the loss or harm sustained<\/li><li>Punitive damages must be paid.<\/li><li>Removal of deceptive advertising and publication of a correct advertisement.<\/li><li>Payment of an adequate amount (not less than 5% of the disputed good) to the Consumer Welfare Fund.<\/li><li>Reducing the production of dangerous items.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Types_of_Consumer_Forums\"><\/span>Types of Consumer Forums<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>District Forum Called the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Composition: <\/strong>Its president must be a\nstate-appointed official who is, has been, or meets the requirements to serve\nas a district judge. Two additional members must also be at least 35 years old,\nat least one of whom must be a woman, have a bachelor&#8217;s degree from an accredited\nuniversity, be people of ability, integrity, and standing, and have sufficient\nknowledge and experience of at least 10 years in dealing with issues related to\nbusiness, law, commerce, accounting, industry, public affairs, or\nadministration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Term of Office:<\/strong> For five years or until the age of\n65, whichever comes first? A member is eligible for reappointment for further\nfive-year terms within the stipulated age restriction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>State Forum Called State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Composition:<\/strong> Its president must be a person\nselected by the state government who is, has been, or has been a high court\njudge. Two other members, one of whom must be a woman, must be at least 35\nyears old, have a bachelor&#8217;s degree from a recognised university, and be people\nof ability, integrity, and standing, with at least ten years of experience\ndealing with economic, legal, commerce, accounting, industry, public affairs,\nor administration problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Terms of Office:<\/strong> For five years or until the age of\n67, whichever comes first? Within the stipulated age restriction, a member is\nentitled to reappointment for a further term of five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Circuit Bench:<\/strong> The state commission shall\ninitially function in the state capital but may conduct its powers at such\nother locations as the state government may announce from time to time in\ncollaboration with the state commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>National Commission Called National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Composition: <\/strong>Its president must be a person\nselected by the central government who is, has been, or has been a Supreme\nCourt judge. Not less than 4 and not more than such a number of members, at\nleast one of whom shall be a woman, who shall have qualifications, namely,\nbeing not less than 35 years old, possessing a bachelor&#8217;s degree from a\nrecognised university, being persons of ability, integrity, and standing, and\nhaving adequate knowledge and experience of at least 10 years in dealing with\nproblems relating to economic, law, commerce, accountancy, industry, public\naffairs, or administration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Terms of office:<\/strong> For five years or until the age of\n70, whichever comes first?
