The tax\npundits across the country have already speculated this change a few months\nago, and finally, the Ministry of Finance has put an authentication stamp on\nit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This change was announced via a notification issued from the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance on March 23, 2020, in the name of Director &#8211; Pramod Kumar. This notification indicates clearly that <a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/gst-registration\"><strong>GST registration<\/strong><\/a> could not be availed in the absence of the <strong>Aadhaar Authentication<\/strong>. Notably, this change will take effect on April 1, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This measure has been implemented in the presence of subsection (6B) under section 25 Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"569\" src=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/image-54.png\" alt=\"Aadhaar Authentication Mandatory for GST Registration from April 1, 2020\" class=\"wp-image-5430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/image-54.png 624w, https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/image-54-300x274.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The notification demands to render that the\nprovisions of Section 25(6B) &amp; (C) of the Central Goods and Services Tax\nAct, 2017 will address those individuals that comes under authorised signatory\nof all types; Managing and Authorised partner; and Karta of an undivided Hindu\nfamily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the foreigners or the persons who\nare not the citizens of India shall not be a part of this amendment. These\nclass of persons needs to follow a different approach to satisfy this\nprerequisite.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the notification, these class of\npersons shall undergo rule 8 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017\nto complete the GST registration formalities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorised signatory such as Karta of a Hindu\nundivided family and Managing and Authorised partners of a partnership firm,\nshall undergo authentication as per rule 8 of the Central Goods and Services\nTax Rules, 2017, to avail successful possession GST registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if these individuals don\u2019t have possession of an Aadhaar number, then he\/she will be offered alternate means of identification to serve this purpose, specified in Rule 9 of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Rules, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-left\"><b>Read our article<\/b>:<mark style=\"background: #fffd03 !important;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/impact-of-gst-on-loans-in-india\/\">What is the Impact of GST on Loans?<\/a><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why Registration Under GST Is Essential?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Credibility:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A company or an individual who believes in\nconducting fair business practices and has legal documents are more likely to\nget a positive impression from suppliers and consumers.
