thus, they do not undergo the screening\nprocess and need an EIA report.<\/li><li><strong>Category \u2018B\u2019 projects<\/strong> undergo\nthe screening process to check whether the project requires an EIA report or\nnot and are differentiated into two categories,<\/li><li><strong>Category B1 projects (Mandatorily requires EIA).<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Category B2 projects (Do not require EIA).<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Industries Require Environmental Impact Assessment?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>EIA is an essential tool that helps to check the project&#8217;s fate in a very early stage, which will help the project proponent to mitigate and reduce the risk associated with the project.<\/li><li>To carry out the assessment of any project that may lead to environmental and socio-economic impacts, one should go through the process of EIA for Prior Environmental Clearance to acquire an Environmental Clearance Certificate for any of the 39 projects.<\/li><li>EIA is required for schedule 1 projects as per EIA notification, 2006.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clearance and NOCs Needed For Prior Environment Clearance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Forest Clearance as per Forest (Conservation) Act 1980&nbsp;<\/li><li>Wildlife Clearance (NBWL) as per Wildlife (Protection)\nAct 1972&nbsp;<\/li><li>CRZ (Coastal Regulation Zone) Clearance as per issued\nnotification 2011&nbsp;<\/li><li>Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) NOC&nbsp;<\/li><li>Fire NOC&nbsp;<\/li><li>Forest Certificate showing the distance from the\nproject boundary&nbsp;<\/li><li>Airport NOC from AAI for height clearance surrounding\nthe airport&nbsp;<\/li><li>Clearance from NHAI&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Carry Out EIA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>EIA\nfor Prior Environmental Clearance is mandated for Category &#8216;A&#8217; and &#8216;B1&#8217;\nprojects as per EIA notification, 2006. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stages in the EIA Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Scoping\nAnd Consideration Of Alternatives<\/strong> \u2013 To identify the\nproject&#8217;s environmental impacts and define the EIA study&#8217;s scope.<\/li><li><strong>Term\nof Reference<\/strong> \u2013 after the identification of the scope of\nthe project, the project proponent\/consultant applies to the Ministry of\nEnvironment, Forests and climate change (MoEF&amp;CC) or at the state level.\nThe ToR consists of methodology, the scope of the project and the timeline for\ncarrying out an Environmental Impact Assessment.<\/li><li><strong>Environmental\nImpact Assessment Study<\/strong> \u2013 EIA study collects all the\nbaseline details of the project impacts of the project and develops mitigation\nmeasures as a part of EIA for Prior Environmental Clearance. <\/li><li><strong>Public\nConsultation <\/strong>\u2013 Once the draft EIA has been prepared by the\ncertified consultant, it is presented in from of the Public affected by the\nproject for views and opinions to reduce the risk associated with the project.<\/li><li><strong>Final\nEIA <\/strong>\u2013 Inputs received from the Public and committee\nduring the public hearing;
