To mitigate these risks, the\njurisdiction has developed a <strong><a class=\"text-primary\" href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/risk-assessment\">Risk Assessment<\/a><\/strong> (RA) to approach assessing and\nreporting on risk factors which are also incorporated in Chapter\/Section VII of\nthe generic structure of EIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proper\nsite selection takes into consideration the effects of the building on the\nlocation and landscape, environmental concerns such as groundwater and\nstormwater flow and wildlife habitat, the amount of sunlight the building\nreceives, and the exposure of the building to wind. The perfect location\/site\nfor a green building can cut energy costs and reduce the environmental impact\non the land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent\nyears, companies have faced many problems regarding site selection before\npurchasing any land because of environmental risks or natural disasters such as\nearthquakes, floods, Hurricanes, avalanches, cyclones etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For\ninstance, as per a recent report, a newly constructed building collapsed in\nturkey due to two major earthquakes measuring 7.8 and 7.5 on the magnitude\nscale. The reason is the failure to comply with the building standards and\nidentify the environmental risk factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per\nthe BBC, the recent construction means it should have been built to the latest\nstandards that were updated in 2018, which require structures in\nearthquake-prone regions to use high-quality concrete reinforced with steel\nbars.
