The ISI Mark is\ndeveloped by the <strong><em>BIS; <\/em><\/strong>it\u2019s the National Body of India. The ISI Mark is\ncompulsory for many products, such as kitchen appliances, baby products,\nbuilding materials, home appliances, and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Following\nare some major ISI points that every customer must know:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>BIS keeps checking on the\nmanufacturers of the product to see whether they are following the ISI\nGuidelines\/not;<\/li><li>The investigation or inspection\ntakes time for 3 months in case of a complaint made against a Manufacturer of\nthe product;<\/li><li>The vendor must specify on the\nreceipt that the product or item is ISI mark certified;<\/li><li>If the quality of the product or\nitem is not good, then you can file a complaint to BIS.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Important_Factors_shall_be_considered_for_Classifying_Butter_Valves_for_General_Purposes\"><\/span>Important\nFactors shall be considered for Classifying Butter Valves for General Purposes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As\nper IS 13095:2020, the following factors shall be considered for classifying\nButter Valves for General Purposes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Service\nApplication<\/strong>: Tight shut-off, low leakage, regulating\n&amp; vacuum condition.<\/li><li><strong>Nominal\nSizes<\/strong>:<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table table table-bordered\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  <strong>Group<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  <strong>Nominal\n  Sizes in mm<\/strong>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>Group\n  I<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  DN 40 upto &amp; including DN\n  300\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>Group\n  II<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  DN 350 upto &amp; including DN\n  600\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>Group\n  IV<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  DN 1400 upto &amp; including DN\n  2000\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Class\nDesignation<\/strong>: Class 125 or Class 150 or Class 300.<\/li><li><strong>Nominal\nPressure<\/strong>: PN 0.25, PN 0.6, PN 1, PN 1.6, PN 2.5 &amp; PN\n4.<\/li><li><strong>End\nConnections<\/strong>: Water Valves, Double Flanged Valves.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Valves\nshall be designated by PN, i.e., Nominal Pressure and each valve shall comply\nwith nominal size, class designation, and nominal pressure. The dimensions of\nthe flanged body end &amp; drillings must meet the requirements specified in\nthe Standard. The body ends must be able to fit between flanges that meet the\ncriteria of the Standard. All Valves must be able to operate, such as a lever,\nworm gear travelling, and nuts can be employed. All Valves must be\nhydrostatically tested by the Manufacturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Testing_Labelling_and_Marking_of_Butterfly_Valves_as_per_IS_13095_2020\"><\/span>Testing,\nLabelling, and Marking of Butterfly Valves as per IS 13095:2020<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Tests:<\/strong>\nThe following tests shall be carried out for Butterfly Valves:<ul><li>Performance Test;<\/li><li>Seat Test;<\/li><li>Disc Strength Test;<\/li><li>Hydrostatic Test;<\/li><li>Dimension Test;<\/li><li>Body Test.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Note:\nA lab shall be adequately maintained in which various tests shall be carried\nout in accordance with the methods specified in the Standard.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong><em>Labelling &amp; Marking: <\/em><\/strong>IS\n13095:2020 specifies the criteria for labelling &amp; marking. ISI Mark should\nbe applied to every product that fulfils Indian Standards and is covered by the\nLicense. The Manufacturer must attain a BIS License or Certificate from the\nBureau of Indian Standards to use ISI Mark.
