As per\nthe ATM Industry Association&#8217;s consensus, roughly 3.5 million ATMs were in use\nworldwide by the year 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_the_BIS_CRS\"><\/span>What is the BIS CRS?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>BIS CRS\nrefers to the Compulsory Registration Scheme set up by the BIS or the Bureau of\nIndian Standards to operate under Scheme II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment)\nRegulations, established in 2018. Once any queries are clarified and\nthe undertaking\/affidavit has been submitted, the BIS will grant the licence to\napplicants found to be in full compliance with the specified Indian standard.\nOnce granted, the applicants can find the grant of Registration letter on the\nonline portal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration\nis initially granted for a period of two years, following which the licence\nmust be renewed every two years. Manufacturers who are already registered can\nrequest for new models of a registered product to be included under the same\nregistration number.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications\nare processed on a \u2018first come, first serve\u2019 basis and it generally takes\naround 20 working days for Registration to be granted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All manufacturers need to obtain a BIS CRS Certification for Automatic Teller Cash Dispenser Machine, as per the regulations set up by the BIS.
