The order will run concurrently with the \u201c<strong>Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012\u201d<\/strong>. The new order shall not apply to the goods or articles already registered in the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012. However, the Registration can be renewed under the provision of the new order passed. Some products\nmust first obtain a BIS-approved licence in order to be marketed in India.\nManufacturers can choose whether to obtain a BIS licence, but some products are\nrequired to be registered under BIS. The public interest, protection of human\nhealth, elimination of risks to people, animals, or plants, prevention of\nunfair trade practices, and protection of national security are the basis for\nthe requirement that those products be registered. Through the issuance of\nQuality Control Orders, the Central Government has directed using Standard\nmarks registered under a License or Certificate of Conformity (CoC) by BIS for\nthose products (QSOs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are\nthree different types of programmes that allow BIS to approved products:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Scheme-I (ISI mark scheme) <\/li><li>Scheme-II (Compulsory Registration\nScheme) <\/li><li>System IV (Grant of Certificate of\nConformity)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>BIS&#8217;s Compulsory Registration Scheme, or Scheme II, includes BIS CRS Certification for USB-driven <strong>Barcode Readers<\/strong><sup><a class=\"text-primary\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Barcode_reader\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_required_for_BIS_CRS_Certification_for_USB-driven_Barcode_Readers\"><\/span>Documents required for BIS CRS Certification for USB-driven\nBarcode&nbsp;Readers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nManufacturer must submit the following general and technical documents to apply\nfor a BIS CRS Certification for USB-driven Barcode Readers:- <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>BIS application form (Filled up)<\/li><li>CDF\/CCL form (Filled up) <\/li><li>Manufacturing unit\u2019s business license <\/li><li>Scope of Business License<\/li><li>Authorization letter (If the signatory\nperson is other than the head of the manufacturing)<\/li><li>Marking Label or Details of Marking on\nthe product<\/li><li>ISO certificate- Manufacturer<\/li><li>Test Report<\/li><li>Trade Mark Certificate<\/li><li>Authorized Indian Representative\nCompany registration proof in INDIA (in case of the foreign Manufacturer)<\/li><li>Photo ID of Authorized Indian\nRepresentative\/ Authorized Signatory<\/li><li>Trademark Authorization Letter (If TM\nis owned by other than the Manufacturer)<\/li><li>Product Manual<\/li><li>Technical Specification Sheet of\nProduct\/user manual<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_to_Obtain_BIS_CRS_Certification_for_USB-driven_Barcode_Readers\"><\/span>Procedure to Obtain BIS CRS Certification for USB-driven Barcode\nReaders<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The BIS\nhas specified specific procedures for the manufacturers to follow in order to\nobtain a BIS CRS Certification for USB-driven barcode readers in accordance\nwith Indian Standard IS 13252 (PART 1): 2010. A foreign manufacturer must\nfollow a different procedure than an Indian manufacturer, though. The same is\ntrue because, in the case of a foreign manufacturer, an authorized Indian\nrepresentative is chosen to act on the Manufacturer&#8217;s behalf and carry out his\nobligations. The process is as follows for both foreign and Indian\nmanufacturers to obtain BIS CRS Certification for USB-driven barcode readers. &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The process that a foreign manufacture must follow is:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>To handle every responsibility on the\nManufacturer&#8217;s behalf an AIR is appointed.<\/li><li>The application must be submitted by\nthe AIR along with all necessary supporting documentation.<\/li><li>The product sample must then be\nsubmitted by the AIR for examination in a lab that has been authorized by BIS.<\/li><li>The test results are gathered from the\nlaboratory that has received BIS approval and submitted to the BIS office for\nreview. Along with the test results, a softcopy of the online application form\nor a hardcopy application form for offline submission must be submitted.<\/li><li>The BIS office verifies and looks over\nthe test reports before approving them.<\/li><li>Once all of the information has been\nverified, the BIS office issues a BIS CRS Certification to the Manufacturer or\nan authorized agent representative (AIR).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The steps that an Indian manufacturer must take are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>The Manufacturer must submit an\napplication and all necessary paperwork.<\/li><li>The Manufacturer is required to send a\nsample of the product to a lab that has been approved by BIS for testing.<\/li><li>The test results are gathered from the\nlaboratory that has received BIS approval and submitted to the BIS office for\nreview. Along with the test results, a softcopy of the online application form\nor a hardcopy application form for offline submission must be submitted.<\/li><li>The BIS office verifies and looks over\nthe test reports before approving them.<\/li><li>Following the verification of all the\ndetails, the BIS office issues BIS CRS Certification to the Manufacturer.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the terms of Schedule II, Scheme II- Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS), which is prescribed by the Bureau of Indian Standards, can obtain BIS CRS Certification for USB-driven Barcode Readers. The Bureau of Indian Standards has the USB-driven Barcode Readers listed under Indian Standards IS 13252 (Part 1): 2010. (BIS). The minimum term for which the License is granted is two years, and the maximum term for which the Registration may be renewed is five years. The BIS CRS Certification procedure might be technical and challenging to comprehend.
