It is an essential required document produced at the landing port with commercial invoices. A SAPTA, Certificate of Origin issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) must be provided through the exporters to ensure that the products are produced from countries under the trading agreement. The main purpose of SAPTA is to ensure optimum economic cooperation between the member countries by exchange of trade benefits and concessions. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/sapta-license\">SAPTA Certificate<\/a><\/strong> is a first step to assist and promote mutual trade towards higher trade and economic cooperation in the SAARC countries. The main objective of SAPTA agreement was to reduce the trade barriers of the member countries of SAARC. As a result, the balance of trade in this region is reduced. Member countries get some advantages from the agreement of SAPTA like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Member countries of SAARC have the advantage of\ncreating a proper business environment.<\/li><li>If any country faces problems with the balance\nof payment, then SAPTA facilitates them.<\/li><li>This agreement develops communication,\ninfrastructural and transit facilities.<\/li><li>By periodical review of this agreement\nidentifies the success and failure of the member countries.<\/li><li>This agreement tries to increase export.<\/li><li>Underdeveloped countries get the facility to\nexport goods and services to the developed countries by lower tax.<\/li><li>Member countries receive the joint project.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eligibility_of_Products_for_SAPTA_Registration_Certificate\"><\/span>Eligibility of Products for\nSAPTA Registration Certificate<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To qualify for the preference, the products\nneed to fall under the following categories:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Comply with SAPTA rules of origin &amp; Are\nEligible For Preferential Concessions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Raw\/mineral products are extracted from its\nsoil, water\/sea beds.<\/li><li>Animals were born &amp; raised there.<\/li><li>Agriculture products are harvested there.<\/li><li>Used articles collected there.<\/li><li>Waste and scrap result through production\noperations conducted there.<\/li><li>Products of sea fishing &amp; other such marine\nproducts are taken from the high seas through its vessels.<\/li><li>Product processed or made on boards its factory\nships.<\/li><li>Products are obtained from animals raised there.<\/li><li>Products are obtained through hunting or fishing\nthere.<\/li><li>Products are produced exclusively from the\nproducts mentioned above. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_Required_for_obtaining_SAPTA_Registration_Certificate\"><\/span>Documents Required for\nobtaining SAPTA Registration Certificate.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Following are some vital documents required\nto obtain SAPTA Registration Certificate:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Import-Export Code (IEC);<\/li><li>Registration Certificate of Company\/Organisation;<\/li><li>GST Registration Certificate;<\/li><li>Information, including ID &amp;, address proof\nof each director, partner or proprietor;<\/li><li>Exporter information;<\/li><li>Commercial Invoice;<\/li><li>Purchase bill with information on the origin of\ninputs\/consumables used in export products;<\/li><li>Declaration from the manufacturer (exporter) on\nthe letterhead; <\/li><li>Product information;<\/li><li>Purchase order from the importer.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_to_Obtain_SAPTA_Registration_Certificate\"><\/span>Procedure to Obtain SAPTA\nRegistration Certificate<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Following are the steps to obtain SAPTA\nRegistration Certificate:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1: Application: <\/strong>The applicant has\nto file an application form to the appropriate authority with Digital Signature\nCertificate (DSC) and updated Import Export Code (IEC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2: Documents: <\/strong>The application form\nmust have all relevant information &amp; required vital documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3: Payment: <\/strong>After submission of\nthe application form, the applicant has to make payment of the requisite\ncertification fees.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4: Issuance of License: <\/strong>Once all\nthe above steps are successfully completed, then the appropriate authority\ngrants the SAPTA Registration Certificate in the applicant&#8217;s name as the\nCertificate of Origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The products\neligible for preferential concessions for SAPTA shall be supported by a\n&#8216;Certificate of Origin&#8217;
