This change of curvature or bending in response to temperature change\n(reflexivity) is a fundamental property of each thermostat metal. IS 5478: 1969\ncovers the thermostat metal sheet and strip. This Indian standard specifies the\ngeneral requirements for thermostat metal in sheet and strip form. This\nstandard can also be used as a guide in preparing detailed specifications for\nseveral specified kinds of thermostat metals by including material constants\nlike physical properties and chemical composition. The physical properties of a\nspecific kind of thermostat metal, like hardness, flexibility, and electrical\nresistivity, need to conform to the specifications established by the supplier\nand must be agreed upon between the supplier and the purchaser. The bond\nbetween the component materials must be strong and complete throughout the sheet\nand strip. The material&#8217;s surface needs to be free of cracks, laps, seams,\nscratches, rust, blisters, and other defects detrimental to the material&#8217;s\nperformance. The <strong>ISI mark<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ISI_mark\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup> is the Indian standard mark provided to the producers by the BIS for several products. The ISI mark has been considered a mark of safety, purity, and trust since 1955. The ISI mark has been provided as a conformity mark for industrial goods. BIS ISI mark ensures that the products comply with an Indian Standard established by India&#8217;s national standards organization, the BIS. BIS ISI Certification is the certification process of obtaining the ISI mark for a product that complies with Indian Standards.
