The scheme aims to provide impetus to the Electronic &amp; IT industries, which are expanding rapidly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While\nsimultaneously protecting Indian consumers from counterfeit and substandard\ngoods, it has improved the competitiveness of domestic manufacturers and\ngranted Indian consumers the right to enjoy world-class, quality-compliant\nproducts. This strategy implemented by the Indian government has helped prevent\nthe dumping of non-compliant goods and has helped to bridge the gap between\nPeople, Technology, and Safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process of BIS\nCertification for Webcam is entirely optional. However, the Central Government\nhas mandated that several products adhere to Indian Standards. The compliance\nwas implemented to uphold the public interest, safeguard national security,\nsafeguard the environment&#8217;s safety, and safeguard the health of people,\nanimals, and plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following are the duties carried out by BIS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Working for consumer empowerment<\/li><li>Implementing hallmarking schemes <\/li><li>Implementing conformity assessment schemes <\/li><li>Developing and publishing Indian Standards <\/li><li>Recognising laboratories for conducting tests and trials <\/li><li>Implementing conformity assessment schemes <\/li><li>Representing India in ISO and IEC<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central\nGovernment has mandated that holders of a BIS Licence or Certificate of\nconformity must apply for permission before using standard marks (CoC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following are the certificates that BIS provides-<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Scheme-I\n&#8211; The ISI mark scheme<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Scheme-II-\nThe CRS scheme <\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Scheme\nIV- Issuing a conformity certificate<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By the BIS order\ndated 1 October 2020 in SO 3429(E), the Central Government listed seven new\nproducts to be added to the Schedule of the &#8220;Electronics and Information\nTechnology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012. BIS\ncertification for Webcam falls under scheme II of the government&#8217;s mandatory\ncertification programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Regulations_on_BIS_Certification_for_Webcam\"><\/span><strong>Regulations on BIS Certification for Webcam <\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On 1<sup>st<\/sup>\nOctober 2020, the IPHW division of the ministry of electronics and information\ntechnology released a notification listing the products that had been added to\nthe schedule of the &#8220;Electronics and Information Technology Goods\n(Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the\nnotification, seven new products have been added to the list of required\nregistration certificates. The following items are on the product list:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Wireless\nmicrophone<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Digital\nCamera<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Video Camera<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Webcam (finished\nproduct)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Webcam (with\nand without display)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Dimmers for\nLED products<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Bluetooth\nspeakers <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tests_to_determine_the_quality_standards_of_the_Webcam\"><\/span><strong>Tests to determine the quality standards of the Webcam<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognised\nLaboratories shall use the following uniform test report formats to issue test\nreports under the Compulsory Registration Scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Webcam test\nreport for IS 616:2017\/IEC 60065:2014 Audio, Video, and Similar Electronic\nApparatus &#8211; Safety requirements (Fifth Revision) which are required to conduct\ntesting relating to-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Marking requirements<\/li><li>Radiation requirements<\/li><li>Heating requirements<\/li><li>Electrical safety <\/li><li>Mechanical properties<\/li><li>Component testing<\/li><li>Wiring testing<\/li><li>Physical properties testing<\/li><li>Protection against splashing water<\/li><li>Communication connection,<\/li><li>Insulation properties<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Basic_Requisites_for_BIS_Certification\"><\/span><strong>Basic Requisites for BIS Certification<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To get BIS\nCertification in India, the applicant must fulfil the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Manufacturing\nAddress<\/strong>: Proper manufacturing address shall be mentioned in the documents.\nIn case the manufacturer has more than one factory location for one product,\nthen a separate BIS License is needed for each location.<\/li><li><strong>Trademark\nor Brand<\/strong>: Each Trademark or Brand requires its own BIS Certification.<\/li><li><strong>Manufacturer<\/strong>:\nThe first vital thing is that BIS Certification or License is issued to the\nmanufacturer only, not to sellers or importers. The importer may act as an\nAuthorised Indian Representative (AIR) of a Foreign Manufacturer and can submit\nthe application to BIS. However, the final BIS License is only granted to the\nmanufacturer.<\/li><li><strong>Product<\/strong>:\nEach product requires its own BIS License, but if the same product category\ncovers multiple models, then one License or Registration no will cover all\nmodels of the similar product category or we can say, one product with\ndifferent models requires a single BIS License.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_Needed_to_Get_a_BIS_Certification_for_Webcam\"><\/span><strong>Documents Needed to Get a BIS Certification for Webcam<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following are\nthe vital documents required for BIS Certification for Webcam:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Completed CDF\/CCL form;<\/li><li>Business License of the manufacturing unit; <\/li><li>Scope of the Business License; <\/li><li>Manufacturer&#8217;s ISO certificate; <\/li><li>Marking Label\/Details of Marking on the Product;<\/li><li>Authorisation letter (If the signatory person is\ndifferent from the Head of Manufacturing);<\/li><li>Test Report; <\/li><li>Trade Mark Certificate;<\/li><li>Trademark Authorization Letter (If TM is owned\nby other than the manufacturer)<\/li><li>Photo ID of the Authorized Indian Representative\nor Authorized Signatory <\/li><li>Technical Specification Sheet of the\nProduct\/User Manual <\/li><li>Product Manual <\/li><li>Authorised Indian Representative Company\nregistration proof in INDIA (in the case of the foreign manufacturer)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Steps_to_get_a_BIS_certification_for_Webcam\"><\/span><strong>Steps to get a BIS certification for Webcam<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The manufacturer\nmust apply for the BIS certificate in order to receive BIS certification for\nWebcam.
