Currently, there are 79 electronics products under the CRS scheme. All individuals &amp; companies who are manufacturing, importing, distributing, or selling electronics product lists need to apply for BIS CRS Registration. Anyone who is a Power bank manufacturer must apply for BIS CRS Registration after getting their product tested in BIS authorised lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Details_Regarding_BIS_CRS_Registration_for_Power_Bank\"><\/span>Details Regarding BIS CRS\nRegistration for Power Bank<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The BIS CRS\nRegistration for Power Bank ensures that the Power Bank being purchased from\nthe customers is safe &amp; reliable for use and also provides assurance that\nthe power bank is of good quality. However, the final BIS CRS Registration\nis only granted to the manufacturers.<\/li><li><strong>Address\nof Manufacturer:<\/strong> The BIS CRS Registration is granted to the manufacturer\nfor a particular premises address. If the manufacturing address change, a new\nRegistration is to be applied for. Or in case the manufacturer has more than\none manufacturing address for the same product; separate Registration is\napplied for each manufacturing address with BIS.<\/li><li><strong>Product\nCategory: <\/strong>In case a manufacturer is manufacturing more than one product,\nthen they have to apply a separate application form for obtaining BIS CRS\nRegistration for each product.<\/li><li><strong>Brand or\nTrademark:<\/strong> A manufacturer or OEM who is manufacturing the same product for\nmore than one brand or Trademark has to apply for a separate license with BIS.\nFor example, in case a manufacturer is manufacturing power banks for brand &#8216;A&#8217;\n&amp; brand &#8216;B&#8217; to apply for two separate BIS CRS Registrations with BIS.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_Required_for_BIS_CRS_Registration_for_Power_Bank\"><\/span>Documents Required for BIS CRS Registration\nfor Power Bank<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following are some vital documents required to obtain BIS CRS Registration for Power Banks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A duly filled Constructional Data Form ( CDF),\nor the Critical Component List ( CCL);<\/li><li>Business License of the Manufacturing Unit;<\/li><li>A duly filled Application form;<\/li><li>The Scope of Business License;<\/li><li>The Label of Marking that specifies the\ninformation of the Power Banks<\/li><li>ISO Certification of the Manufacturers<\/li><li>The Authorisation Letter if the signatory\npersonnel is not the owner of the Manufacturing facility;<\/li><li>Trademark Authorisation Letter if the\nmanufacturer is not the owner of the Trademark;<\/li><li>The Trademark Certification;<\/li><li>The proof of company registration of the office\npremises being situated in India for the Authorised Indian Representative\n(AIR), if the Power Banks are being manufactured in foreign;<\/li><li>Technical Specification Sheet of the Power Bank;<\/li><li>Photographic identification Proof of the\nAuthorised Indian Representative (AIR) or the Authorised Signatory<\/li><li>User Manual of the Power Bank.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_to_Obtain_BIS_CRS_Registration_for_Power_Bank\"><\/span>Procedure to Obtain BIS CRS\nRegistration for Power Bank<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The process to obtain BIS CRS Registration for Power Bank is divided into two parts Indian or Foreign manufacturers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>The\nprocess to obtain BIS CRS Registration for Indian (domestic) manufacturers<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1: <\/strong>First the applicant need to submit\nthe application form along with all the required documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> Then the application and\ndocuments sent to BIS are to be evaluated, and upon successful results, an\ninspection is to be conducted, BIS Authorised Personnel performs a physical\nassessment, and samples of the product are collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Then the sample tested in a BIS\nAuthorised Laboratory, and a detailed report is drafted by the BIS authorised\ninspector of the inspection and the product sample.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> If all the standards are\nmandatorily complied with BIS, then the BIS CRS Registration Certificate is issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Process\nfor BIS CRS Registration for Foreign (overseas) Manufacturers<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Foreign Manufacturers are\nrequired to nominate an Authorised Indian Representative (AIR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> The Foreign manufacturer must\nsubmit the duly filled application form along with all the documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> A product sample will be tested\nin a BIS-authorised Laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> The test report of product\nsamples generated from the inspection conducted by an authorised BIS official\nwill be submitted to BIS without tampering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 5:<\/strong> In case the documents and test\nreports of a product are deemed satisfactory, then the BIS CRS Registration is\ngranted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Guidelines_for_the_Appointment_of_Authorised_Indian_Representative_AIB\"><\/span>Guidelines for the Appointment\nof Authorised Indian Representative (AIB)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To obtain a BIS Certificate,\nForeign (overseas) applicants must nominate an Authorized Indian Representative\n(AIR) for their operations in India. In the event that they don&#8217;t have a branch\noffice in India. The application for Certification must be submitted, managed,\nand inquiries can be asked of AIR as the local agent. The Authorized Indian\nRepresentative shall be appointed in accordance with the procedures to be\nfollowed by the Foreign Manufacturer (AIR)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clause 1:<\/strong> In case the manufacturers\nhave a liaison office or a branch office in India, they will be designated as\nAuthorised Indian Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clause 2: <\/strong>If the foreign manufacturer\ndoesn&#8217;t have a branch office or liaison office in India, however, the proprietor\/\nregistered user of the Trademark or brand appearing on the product is located\nin India, the owner of the Trademark or brand will become Authorized Indian\nRepresentative (AIR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clause 3:<\/strong> In case the manufacturer\ndoesn\u2019t have a branch office or liaison office located in India, and there is\nno proprietor or registered user of the Trademark or brand appearing on the\nproduct located in India, then the other entity will become the Authorized\nIndian Representative (AIR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Compliance_Measures_for_BIS_CRS_Registration_for_Power_Banks\"><\/span>Compliance Measures for BIS CRS\nRegistration for Power Banks<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following Compliance Measures are essential to be maintained for the obtaining of BIS CRS Registration for Power Bank in India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The product sample testing will be conducted\nonly in a BIS Authorised Laboratory.<\/li><li>Before the delivery of samples, the manufacturer\nof the Power Bank must ensure that complete arrangements have been made for the\nentire delivery from the factory premises where the product is manufactured to\nthe applicable testing laboratory.<\/li><li>The License of the BIS Authorised Laboratory\nshould be valid &amp; not suspended. In the Critical Component List (CCL),\nthe product components&#8217; details should be filled very briefly &amp; precisely.<\/li><li>All vital documents should be signed by the\nProducer, Brand Owner and the Authorised Indian Representative (AIR), along\nwith the documents being notarised &amp; stamped by the Brand Owner and\nAuthorised Indian Representative.<\/li><li>All vital documents are to be prepared before\nthe testing of the product.<\/li><li>The validity of the Test Report of the product\nis for three months. Before the expiration date of the product test report, it\nmust be submitted to the BIS.<\/li><li>After successfully submitting all documents,\nincluding the product test report, the BIS typically requires about fifteen\ndays to approve the BIS CRS Registration for Power Banks, which may extend to\nthirty to sixty days.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The BIS issues the BIS CRS registration.
