The Tea board was set up under Tea Act 1953 and was constituted in April 1954. The Board was set up to promote Indian Tea within and outside India. The Board functions under the statutory body of the Central Government under the <strong>Ministry of Commerce<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/commerce.gov.in\/\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup>. The Board is constituted of 31 members who are members of parliament, tea traders, consumers, tea producers and representatives of Governments from Tea producing states and trade unions. Every three years, the Board is reconstituted. Factories<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The Tea\nboard of India has approved norms for setting up micro and Mini tea Factories\nby small tea growers by small tea growers, who have accounted for 35K per cent\nof India&#8217;s annual Tea Production.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Growers\nholding tea areas up to 10-12 hectares are considered small tea growers, and\nthere are around two lakh such holdings,<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>With the\nannouncement of the guidelines, it is expected that the STG sector would be\nable to establish exclusive factories and adopt good manufacturing practices\ntherein, a senior official of the Confederation of Indian Small Tea Growers\nAssociation (CISTA) said.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Definition_of_Mini_Tea_Factory_for_setting_up_Mini_Tea_Factory_License\"><\/span>Definition\nof Mini Tea Factory for setting up Mini Tea Factory License<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>It means a\nTea factory owned by the small growers or an association of small growers, or a\nproducer company. Sources require all required Tea leaves from their plantation\nto manufacture Tea and have the capacity to produce not more than 500 kilograms\nof made per day.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Functions_of_Tea_Board\"><\/span>Functions\nof Tea Board<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tea Board has comprehensive\nfunctions and various responsibilities as directed by the central government.\nSome of the functions of the tea board are discussed below for a better\nunderstanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Technical\nand financial assistance is provided for tea manufacturing, cultivation and\nmarketing.<\/li><li>Export\nproduction and development of the tea industry in India<\/li><li>Helping in\nR&amp;D activities for Improvement and Augmentation in tea production and\nquality.<\/li><li>Labour\nwelfare schemes provide limited financial assistance to plantation workers and\ntheir wards.<\/li><li>To assist\nand encourage, technically and financially to unorganized small grower sector.<\/li><li>Collecting\nand Maintaining statistical data and publication.<\/li><li>The Board\nshall assist in controlling insects and other pests affecting the Tea.<\/li><li>Improving\nthe marketing of Tea outside and within India<\/li><li>Subscribing\nto the company&#8217;s share capital or entering into any agreement or other arrangement.<\/li><li>Better\nworking conditions and improvement of incentives and amenities for workers.<\/li><li>Any other\nactivities as assigned from time to time by the Central Government.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board shall perform its function\nwith subjects to such rules made by the central government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_Required_to_Furnished_for_Mini_Tea_Factory_License\"><\/span>Documents\nRequired to Furnished for Mini Tea Factory License&nbsp; <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following are the documents and\nInformation that need to be submitted<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Applicants\nname \u2013 (INTO BLOCK LETTERS)<\/li><li>Certificate\nof Incorporation in case of Producer Company\/ Biometric Card No.<\/li><li>Mailing\naddress with the Pin Code, E-Mail Id, Contact Number<\/li><li>Name of the\nTea processing&nbsp; Unit<\/li><li>Tea\nProcessing units with Pin code, E-Mail Id, Contact Number.<\/li><li>Area of Tea\nwhich is under cultivation with break up, if the applicant is a small grower or\nan associate of small growers or producer company<\/li><li>Document\nindicative total green leaf produced per year with break up, if the applicant\nis a small grower, an association of small growers, or a producer company.<\/li><li>Annual\nproduction Capacity<\/li><li>List of\nMachines &amp; Equipment installed with the date of Installation<\/li><li>Copy of\nfactory layout drawn by a civil engineer.<\/li><li>A copy of\nFSSAI has been obtained.<\/li><li>Central\nExcise registration number and zone<\/li><li>Details of\nBank and cheques to be drawn in favour of the Tea board.&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Registration_of_Mini_Tea_Process_of_Mini_Tea_factory\"><\/span>Registration\nof Mini Tea Process of Mini Tea factory <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The applicant must apply to the Tea Board for the <a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/tea-board-license\"><strong>Tea Board License <\/strong><\/a>to be issued after receiving all the above documents.<\/li><li>The applicant must also submit the RCMC to one of the Tea Board of India&#8217;s regional, head, or zonal offices. The Tea Board License is issued if the entire application is deemed satisfactory after a careful review.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Guidelines_for_setting_up_Mini_Tea_Factory_License\"><\/span>Guidelines\nfor setting up Mini Tea Factory License<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>In January\n2003, the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, exercised its power\nconferred under the provision of the Tea Act. No manufacturing activities shall\nbe carried on, except under a Valid Registration obtained under an order issued\nby Tea Marketing Control Order in respect of Tea factory owned or controlled by\nhim. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Stipulates that no mini tea factory shall carry on the activities of selling, manufacturing or hold stock of Tea after 30 days of publication of this order except under a valid certificate obtained under this order. The certificate application shall be submitted to the certifying Authority in FORM \u2013 K within thirty days from the date of commercial manufacturing. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>However,\nsuppose the Mini Tea Factory is already set up before the publication of this\norder of Tea Marketing Control Order, 2003. In that case, it shall be deemed to\nbe a manufacturer under the provision of the order, provided that it obtains a\ncertificate within ninety days from the date of publication of the order of\nTMCO, 2003. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Validity_of_Mini_Tea_Factory_License\"><\/span>Validity of\nMini Tea Factory License<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the license is granted, the\nValidity of the Mini Tea Factory License is for the Lifetime.
