For BIS Standards for Speakers to be met, a BIS CRS\nCertificate must be issued, a standard mark that grants proof of conformity and\nsafety of the product being sold to use is of high quality and is reliable.\nThere are two registration schemes of BIS CRS Registration for Speaker under\nBIS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>CRS\nstands for Compulsory Registration Scheme.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>FMCS\nstands for Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme. <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_CRS_under_BIS\"><\/span>What is CRS under BIS?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2012, the CRS was first introduced by the Department of Electronics &amp; Information Technology (DeitY); now, it is called the <strong>Ministry of Electronics &amp; Information Technology (MeitY)<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meity.gov.in\/\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup> with the Bureau of Indian Standards. Under the CRS scheme, manufacturers need to register their products before introducing them to the market. BIS CRS Registration is essential for all electronic products listed in CRS and in case anyone wants to sell a particular product in the Indian market. All manufacturers, regardless Indian or Foreign, need to apply for BIS CRS registration to import the product in India and sales in the Indian market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Essential_Factors_for_BIS_CRS_Registration\"><\/span>Essential Factors for BIS CRS\nRegistration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four essential factors for BIS CRS Registration in India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Manufacturers:<\/strong>\nBIS CRS Registration is granted only to the domestic manufacturers of the\napplied products. The trade, importer or retailer is not eligible for the BIS\nCRS Registration. They can present as their AIR in India if the manufacturers\ndo not have their offices in India. However, the registration is granted on\nbehalf of the manufacturer only.<\/li><li><strong>Address\nof Manufacturers:<\/strong> The BIS CRS Registration is issued to the manufacturers\nfor a separate manufacturing premises address. If the address of the\nmanufacturers changes, the new BIS CRS Registration is to be applied for\nproducts. In case the manufacturer has more than one manufacturing premises\naddress for the same product, then the separate BIS CRS Registration applies to\neach manufacturing premises. <\/li><li><strong>Product\nCategory:<\/strong> In case the manufacturer manufactures more than one product, they\nmust apply a separate application for each product category. For example,\nmanufacturers manufacturing Speakers and amplifiers must file two different\napplications with BIS.<\/li><li><strong>Brand of\nthe Product:<\/strong> If the manufacturer manufacturing the same products for more\nthan one brand has to apply for a separate BIS CRS Registration. If the\nmanufacturer is manufacturing Speakers for brand X and brand Y, you must apply\nfor two separate BIS CRS Registrations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_required_to_Obtain_BIS_CRS_Registration_for_Speakers\"><\/span>Documents required to Obtain\nBIS CRS Registration for Speakers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following are some essential documents to obtain BIS CRS Registration for Speakers in India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Filled CDF\/CCL form<\/li><li>Scope of Business License (English Translation +\nLocal Language)<\/li><li>Duly filled BIS application form<\/li><li>Business Licence of manufacturing unit (English\nTranslation + Local Language)<\/li><li>Marking Label or information of Marking on the\nproduct<\/li><li>ISO certificate of manufacturer<\/li><li>Authorisation letter (If the signatory person is\nother than the head of the manufacturing)<\/li><li>Trademark Authorization Letter (If TM is owned\nby other than the manufacturer)<\/li><li>Trade Mark Certificate<\/li><li>AIR Company registration proof (if&nbsp; foreign manufacturer)<\/li><li>PCB Layout, Block Diagram, Circuit Diagram<\/li><li>Photo ID of Authorised Indian Representative or\nAuthorised Signatory<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_for_Obtaining_BIS_CRS_Registration_for_Speakers\"><\/span>Procedure for Obtaining BIS CRS\nRegistration for Speakers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following are steps for obtaining BIS CRS Registration for Speakers in India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1:&nbsp;\n<\/strong>A profile of the Applicant must be created with BIS that can be done\noffline or online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> The product must be tested in a\nBIS authorised laboratory, and only after successful testing of the Speakers\nwill a test report be generated from the BIS certified laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> After successfully conducting\nthe product samples, the BIS authorised laboratory directly submits the test\nreport of the product to BIS under the created profile of the Applicant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> If the Applicant is Foreigner,\nthen the Applicant must appoint an AIR (Administrative Indian Representative).\nIn the case of domestic Applicant, they must submit the required essential\ndocuments per Form A &amp; B. In contrast, in the case of foreign Applicant,\nthey need to submit required important documents per Form C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 5:<\/strong> The Applicant must submit the\napplication with all the required documents and pay the applicable fee for the\nBIS CRS Registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 6:<\/strong> The BIS Official will verify\nthe test report of the product and other documents. If all the set Indian\nStandards according to BIS Standards for Speakers are met, the BIS is granted\nthe BIS CRS Registration Certificate to the Applicant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Note:\nBIS CRS Registration for Speakers is valid for two years, and it can be renewed\nif there is no change in the product and its standard.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Penalty_under_BIS\"><\/span>Penalty under BIS <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the\nMinistry of Electronics &amp; Information Technology (MeiTy), if any\nmanufacturer selling their electronic products in the Indian market without\nobtaining BIS CRS Registration, they will be held liable under Section 3(2)\n&amp; 4(3), which states the seizure of products and deformation of products\nrespectively per the Electronics &amp; Information Technology Products\n(Requirements of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each company involved in Speakers&#8217; distribution, sale, or trade must register separately for BIS CRS Registration Certification. The names of all the firms should be given in the Product Test Report, which will be valid with the submission of product samples for all companies. If a few companies want to register for the products with a single manufacturer.
