In 2012, the Ministry of\nElectronics &amp; Information Technology introduced the CRS Scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>CRS stand for Compulsory Registration scheme, which MeitY introduced in 2012 for electronic &amp; IT products. Presently, there are 77 products categorised under the scheme.<\/li><li>A manufacturer of these products must apply for BIS registration after getting their product tested by BIS-authorised labs.<\/li><li>Anyone who is manufacturing, importing, storing or distributing products mentioned in the product list notified by the authority should apply for BIS Registration that confirms the Indian Standard as specified in the order.<\/li><li>BIS then registers the manufacturers under its registration scheme who are permitted to declare that their articles conform to the Indian Standards.<\/li><li>Compulsory Registration Schemes are operated under <strong>Chapter IVA of BIS Rules 1987<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bis.gov.in\/index.php\/bis-act-rules-regulations\/118330-2\/\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup>.<\/li><li>Once the person is registered, they are allowed to use the Standard Mark as notified by the BIS and registration is allotted to the applicant. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Basic_Requisite_for_BIS_for_Scanner\"><\/span>Basic Requisite for BIS for\nScanner<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To get BIS Registration, the applicant must fulfil the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Manufacturer\n\u2013<\/strong> The first vital thing is that BIS Licence is granted to the Manufacturer\nonly, not to importers or sellers. The importer may act as AIR for Foreign\nManufacturer and can submit the application Form to BIS. But the final BIS\nlicence is granted to the Manufacturer only.<\/li><li><strong>Manufacturing\nAddress \u2013<\/strong> Proper manufacturing address will be mentioned in the documents.\nIn case of Manufacturer have more than one factory area for the same products,\nthen a separate BIS Licence is required for every factory location.<\/li><li><strong>Product \u2013<\/strong>\nAll product needs their own BIS Licence. But if the same products category\ncovers multiple models, then one BIS registration will cover all the models of\nthe same product category. Or one product with different models needs a single\nBIS Licence or registration.<\/li><li><strong>Brand\/\ntrademark \u2013<\/strong> Every brand or trademark needs its own BIS Certification.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_required_to_Obtain_BIS_for_Scanner\"><\/span>Documents required to Obtain\nBIS for Scanner<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following are the Documents require to obtain BIS for Scanner in India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Name &amp; Address of the applicant.<\/li><li>Name &amp; Address of the factory.<\/li><li>MSME or SSI Certificate<\/li><li>Layout plan of the factory.<\/li><li>Flow chart of the manufacturing process<\/li><li>List of testing equipment &amp; facilities<\/li><li>Third-Party laboratory test report according to\nthe Indian Standards<\/li><li>In the case of Foreign or overseas\nmanufacturers, the information of the Nomination Form &amp; the Indian Agent.<\/li><li>Acknowledgement receipt<\/li><li>Affidavit &amp; Undertaking attested with ID\nProof &amp; Signature of the approved Indian Representative (in case of Foreign\nManufacturer)<\/li><li>Undertaking related to the test report of the\nproduct.<\/li><li>Establishment proof of manufacturing unit like\nRegistration Certificate, Certificate of Incorporation or MOA, etc.<\/li><li>Information on Outsourcing of the manufacturing\nprocess.<\/li><li>Map location plan of the factory<\/li><li>List of machinery involved<\/li><li>Calibration Certificates of testing devices<\/li><li>In case an authorised signatory signs the\napplication, the Indian Agent &amp; Nomination Form Information.<\/li><li>Technical information of the products like\nSchematic Diagrams, List of Critical Components, PCB Layout, and User Manual.<\/li><li>Letter of Consent by CEO of Company.<\/li><li>Original Test report of the product by BIS\nauthorised Laboratory.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_to_Obtain_BIS_for_Scanner\"><\/span>Procedure to Obtain BIS for\nScanner<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The BIS registration process for foreign Manufacturers differs from the process for Domestic Manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>BIS\nRegistration Process for Domestic Manufacturer<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Submit the application form\nonline and all vital documents and pay the BIS registration fee &amp; other\nprocess fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2: <\/strong>Testing of product samples from\nthe BIS Authorised Laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3: <\/strong>Submit the offline application,\nthe form&#8217;s hard copy, the test report and other vital documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> BIS officials or the Inspection\nteam will verify the application form, test report, and other vital documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 5:<\/strong> If BIS Officials satisfy the\napplication form and other documents, they will grant the BIS for Scanner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>BIS\nRegistration Process for Foreign Manufacturer<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Nominate Indian Representative\nwho will represent the foreign Manufacturer in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> Submit the online application\nform and all the required documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Testing the samples of the\nproduct in BIS authorised Laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> Submit the online or offline\nhardcopy of the application form, including a test report of the product and\nother vital documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 5:<\/strong> BIS Officials will verify the\napplication form and test report along with all the vital documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 6:<\/strong> If BIS Officials satisfy the\napplication form and other documents, they will grant the BIS for Scanner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Standard Body of India is the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
