The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)\nprovides the ISI mark for any product. There are around 361 items that need a\nBSI ISI certification before being imported, exported or sold in India. There\nis a process which needs to be followed before getting the license. The\nprocedure to obtain a BIS ISI for Water Heater includes quality tests, which\nmay also include follow-up testing, followed by a factory inspection. The\nvalidity of the BIS ISI certificate is for the period of 2 years, during which\nthere may also be some additional tests conducted for quality assurance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the\nquality and standards of the product are the only reasons that require\nadditional tests. The <strong>Bureau of Indian Standards<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bis.gov.in\/\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup> BIS is the National Standards body of India, and the ISI mark certifies that the product is in accordance with the standards set by BIS. The ISI mark is the most famous and common mark in India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ISI stands for\nIndian Standards Institution, which was also the name of the national standards\nbody until 1st January 1987. On that day, the name was changed from ISI to\nBureau of Indian Standards (ISI). The normal procedure\ntakes around 60-65 days to complete, whereas the simplified procedure takes\naround 35-40 days to obtain the BIS certificate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Any product that passes the necessary requirements for a BIS certification shall be provided with an ISI mark in the product. When the product falls under the standards of the BIS Conformity Assessment Scheme, the product will be eligible to receive a BIS Certificate. All the Importers, exporters, and sellers may receive a BIS certification. If in case the product fails to comply with the quality standards and tests conducted for the assessment purpose, the BIS denies or cancels the BIS certificate for that product.
