Thus, they need a proper system for collecting the waste generated by their own products. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Producer\nResponsibility Organization is an organization which is financed and authorized\nby the producers, either individually or collectively. It is a professional\norganization and takes responsibility for collecting and channelizing plastic\nwaste and e-waste to ensure environmentally sound management of such wastes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Requirements_to_become_Producer_Responsibility_Organization\"><\/span>Requirements to become Producer\nResponsibility Organization <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following are\nthe minimum requirement to become Producer Responsibility Organization:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Details of Organization<\/li><li>Details of Authorized person<\/li><li>Copy of Registration from any\nStatutory Body<\/li><li>A minimum of five years of\nexperience in Waste Management <\/li><li>Copy of TAN, PAN and GST<\/li><li>Details of Channel partners<\/li><li>Category of waste handled<\/li><li>Details of collection mechanism<\/li><li>Details of Organizational\nStructure<\/li><li>List of districts and states to\nbe covered<\/li><li>Success stories in the waste\ndisposal<\/li><li>Any other information<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Capacities_and_Capabilities_to_become_PRO\"><\/span>Capacities and Capabilities to\nbecome PRO<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following are\nthe Capacities and Capabilities to become Producer Responsibility Organization:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Specify details of capacity to\nhandle, collect, store, sort and recycle waste.<\/li><li>Capable of channelizing the\nwaste to fulfil the target of collection set by producers, brand owners and\nimporters. <\/li><li>Provide the organizational\nstructure of the human resources, waste collection facilities, and\ninfrastructures for collecting, sorting, and transporting wastes.<\/li><li>Provide information about its\ncollection mechanism, collection points, logistic arrangements, etc.<\/li><li>Capable of carrying out public\nawareness initiatives, campaigns or programmes for the promotion of the manner\nof the waste disposal system. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_for_becoming_Producer_Responsibility_Organization\"><\/span>Procedure for becoming Producer\nResponsibility Organization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To become Producer\nResponsibility Organization, an entity or individual has to fulfil the\nfollowing steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Application<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant has\nto file an application at the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) with all\nthe required details\/information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Verification<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After receiving\nthe application, the CPCB verifies and scrutinizes it and rejects or accepts\nit. The CPCB responds to the application within 25 days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Registration<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the CPCB\naccepts the application, the applicant is registered as the Producer Responsibility\nOrganization. The registration is valid for three years.
