The\nProducers are made responsible for end-of-life management for their products,\nand the producers now can delegate this responsibility to the Producer\nResponsibility Organization.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Producer Responsibility Organization shall comply with the <strong>Environment (Protection) Act<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/cpcb.nic.in\/env-protection-act\/\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup>, other Waste Management Rules, and other rules, regulations, or guidelines made thereunder.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CPCB Producer Responsibility Organization is a professional organization that is handled individually or on a collective basis by the producers who finance it. The PRO handles the waste in an environmentally sound manner. It is responsible for collecting and channelizing waste of the products that have reached an end of life and are discarded. The PRO aids the producers so that they can meet the required target in the matter of the legislative guidelines set by the Government. It helps in processing wastes and converting them into useful material.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" mechanism, including collection points, logistic\n     arrangements, etc.<\/li><li>The PRO should be capable of carrying\n     out public awareness initiatives, campaigns or programmes to promote ensure that the\n     collected waste is of an equivalent amount<\/li><li>Producers should pay attention that\n     proper funding is provided to support the manner of recycling waste.<\/li><li>Waste pickers should be widely\n     included in a way to improve their income levels.<\/li><li>The producers should obtain the\n     certificate, including all the entities who are part of waste management,\n     to comply with EPR and ensure that the waste has been safely transported\n     to recycling and processing units.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Registration_of_the_Producer_Responsibility_Organization\"><\/span><strong>Registration of the Producer Responsibility Organization<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For\nthe registration of an entity or individual to act as a CPCB Producer\nResponsibility Organization following are the required steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The application by the entity or\n     individual who desires to act as the Producer Responsibility Organization\n     has to fill at Central Pollution Control Board. The application has to be\n     submitted with all the required information.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The CPCB does the verification and\n     scrutiny of the application, and accordingly, it rejects or accepts such\n     applications.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Central Pollution Control Board\n     responds to the application within a time period of twenty-five\n     days.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The registration is valid for three\n     years. For renewal of the registration, the application has to be made\n     prior to sixty days from the expiry of such registration.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Requirements_to_register_as_a_Producer_Responsibility_Organization\"><\/span><strong>Requirements to register as a Producer Responsibility\nOrganization<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfollowing are the requirements of the application form made for the\nregistration to act as a CPCB Producer Responsibility Organization:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Organization details, including name,\n     address and other contact details<\/li><li>Details of the Authorized person,\n     including name, address and contact details<\/li><li>Copy of Registration number issued by\n     the Statutory Body<\/li><li>Copy of TAN, PAN and GST numbers<\/li><li>Copy of details of channel partners\n     like recyclers, aggregators and logistic partners<\/li><li>Category of waste to be handled<\/li><li>Details of the collection mechanism<\/li><li>Details of the Organizational\n     Structure<\/li><li>Agreement copy providing details of\n     experience in waste management<\/li><li>List of the districts and states to be\n     covered<\/li><li>Success stories in the disposal of\n     waste<\/li><li>Any other information, if required.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The establishment of the CPCB Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) is a positive initiative towards waste management in our country.
