It must not\ninclude dead insects, insect fragments, living insects, and rodent\ncontamination that is visible to the naked eye. The product shall be free from\nharmful substances, added colouring &amp; inessential matter.<\/li><li>Tea used in the production of\nthe flavoured tea shall confirm to the standards of tea. Also, the tea\ncontaining added flavour requires to bear a proper label declaration as given\nin the regulation. If the manufacturer is providing flavoured tea, then they\nshould register with the Tea Board before marketing flavoured tea.<\/li><li>The tea may comprise natural\nflavours and natural flavouring substances, which are flavour preparations\n&amp; acceptable for human consumption only if it is attained by physical\nprocesses from the plant origin, either in their original state\/after\nprocessing for human consumption in packaged tea only.<\/li><li>The manufacturers must ensure\nthat the tea is packed &amp; labelled as per FSSAI Regulations, whose labelling\nrequirements are extremely severe. If the requirements are not fulfilled\ncompletely, the manufacturer will be responsible for penalties cited under the <strong><em>FSS\n(Packaging &amp; Labelling) Regulation, 2011<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li><li>The label must bear all the\nvital information before it is ready for sale in the market in a clear,\nprominent &amp; easily readable format for the customers. The product must be\nlabelled with the following information:<\/li><li>The common name of the product;<\/li><li>Expiration date &amp; best\nbefore date;<\/li><li>Ingredients details with\nadditives;<\/li><li>Country of origin for imported\nfood;<\/li><li>Name &amp; address of the\nmanufacturer;<\/li><li>Batch number or packaging\ncodes;<\/li><li>Manufacturing date;<\/li><li>Net weight of the content by\nweight, volume, or count.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Some_Basic_Legal_Compliance_for_Tea_Business\"><\/span>Some Basic\nLegal Compliance for Tea Business<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nare some basic legal compliance for Tea Business in India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>A tea plantation should register with the <strong><em>Labour Bureau<\/em><\/strong> of the State Government within sixty days of its start date under the <strong><em>Plantation Labour Act, 1951<\/em><\/strong>;<\/li><li>Under the Tea Act, 1953 and Tea Rules, the Licensing Branch permits for replacement &amp; extension of the planting of tea to existing tea estates;<\/li><li>No distributor or exporter of tea may conduct business without a business license issued by the <strong><em>Tea (Distribution &amp; Export) Control Order, 2005<\/em><\/strong>. Unless suspended\/cancelled, a business license is valid for 3 years from the date of issuing;<\/li><li>The Licensing Branch also grants newcomers permission to grow tea as well as records any changes in ownership of the tea plantation;<\/li><li>The ownership of a tea factory or any alteration in ownership must be incorporated with the Tea Board of India under the <strong><em>TMCO, 2003<\/em><\/strong><sup><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teaboard.gov.in\/TEABOARDPAGE\/NzU=\"><strong><em>[1]<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/sup>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ntea business in India is one of the oldest &amp; largest in the world, with\naround 31% of global production.
