The notification came to the effect following a concern raised by the\nPCMC corporator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the concern of the\ncomplainant?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the complainant, some of the\nindustries operating in the Taloja MIDC zone were emitting excessive\npollutants, mainly in the form of chemicals and gases. The situation has gone\nworst as such pollutants are endangering the health of residents of the\nKharghar and Taloja. MPCB has a dedicated vigilance squad that regularly\ninspects industrial units operating in Taloja MIDC Zone. The inspection is\nusually carried out at night since most industries remain operational in the\ndark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does MPCB react to the complainant&#8217;s concern?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the deputy regional officer of\nMPCB, the relevant measures have been taken by the authority against the\ndefaulters allegedly undermining pollution norms. The officer further confirmed\nthat the authority has also distributed showcause notices to the following from\nOct 16, 2020, to Nov 29, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Johnson\nMatthey Chemicals India Pvt Ltd<\/li><li>Mumbai\nWaste Management Ltd<\/li><li>Lason\nIndia Pvt Ltd<\/li><li>Scottish\nChemical Industries<\/li><li>Taiyo\nNippon Sanso India Pvt Ltd<\/li><li>Berger\nPaints India Ltd<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The actions will be formulated in accordance\nwith the promises received from the respective industries. Adkar also added\nthat soon after confronting the appellant&#8217;s concern, the MPCB had conducted the\nmeeting with the Taloja Manufacturing Association on Oct 11, 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Regulatory Fencing of Chemical Industry in India <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>India&#8217;s chemical sector is one of the most diversified industrial regimes encompassing above 700000 commercial products. Yet none of the acts ensure end-to-end regulatory fencing for the industry.<\/li><li>The <strong>Environment (Protection) Act, 1986<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Environment_Protection_Act,_1986\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup> is the umbrella act that regulates the chemical industry to a significant extent. This claim was made by the report of the National Chemical Management Profile for India. The report was rolled out in 2005-06 by <a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/noc-pollution-control-board\"><strong>Central Pollution Control Board<\/strong><\/a>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the swift growth of industries in India and other nations as a result of economic development has escalated air pollution to a considerable extent.
