The department\nof consumer affairs has set up a web-based portal known as INGRAM (Integrated\nGrievance Redress Mechanism) to resolve the grievance encountered by the consumer\nlay\u2013to-lay basis. The write-up will highlight the procedure for filing the\nconsumer grievance online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But before we start explaining\nthe main topic, lets us know the fundamental meaning of consumer and their\nrights. The term \u201cconsumer\u201d is briefly defined under section 2(7) of the\nConsumer Protection Act 2019. The consumer can use\nthe following URL to reach out to this portal.&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.consumerhelpline.gov.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.consumerhelpline.gov.in<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no guest session on\nthis portal- meaning consumers have to register on this portal for registering\nthe complaint. For the registration, tap on the link above and select the\noption called \u201cuser login\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Complete the Sign-up Process <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The consumer must enter the\ncredentials such as name, gender, email address, password to complete the\nsign-up process. And the same can be validated via the consumer\u2019s email. Then\nthe login credential is created.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consumer has to enter\ndetails like name, gender, email id, password, etc., for sign up. And the same\ncan be verified through consumer email. Then the User ID and password are\ncreated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Fill the \u201cGrievance Registration Form.\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the credentials above to\nlogin into the portal and locate the form called \u201cGrievance Registration Form.\u201d\nThe consumers must fill the entire form with the relevant information by\nattaching the requested documents. After filling this form with the utmost care\nand the consumer can submit the same.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Note Down the Unique Docket Number<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As soon as the complaint is\nfiled on the portal successfully, a unique docket number will appear on the\nscreen. Moreover, the registered complaint will find its way to the concerned\ncompany \/regulator\/ agency \/ombudsman for speedy redressal. The portal also\nfacilitates the option of checking the status of the complaint on a real-time\nbasis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step\n4: Check Real-Time Status<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the complaints have been lodged, the consumer can check the real-time status of the same on the portal under the option \u2018Track your Grievance\u2019. All types of complaints regarding the <a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/consumer-complaint\"><strong>Consumer complaint<\/strong><\/a> and issues can be lodged on this web-based portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary objective behind\nthe establishment of this portal is to bring all stakeholders such as\nconsumers, Ombudsman, central &amp; state government avenues, etc., all under\none umbrella. And this portal will help in spreading awareness regarding\nconsumer rights among Indian citizens.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each &amp; every complaint\nreceived via this web-based portal will be forwarded to the concerned company\nfor speedy disposal. The max- the time limit to arrive at the rational\nconclusion is sixty days. This portal will ensure to get the complaints\nresolved by the concerned authorities. But all the complaints might not be\nfully redressed. In case of non-addressable of grievance, the company has the\nright to share the same with the appropriate consumer commission\/forum.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ultimate objective behind\nthe launch of this portal by the Department of Consumer Affairs is to garner\nawareness among the Indian citizens about the protection of consumer rights and\nto resolve the consumer complaint effectively and smoothly.&nbsp;This web-based\nfiling method is also deemed time-saver compared to the traditional mode of\nfiling a complaint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every citizen of India\npossesses equal rights to raise their concern against the malpractices of trade\nand criminal code of conduct.
