But after the arrival of the Food Safety and Standards\nRegulations 2017, such adversities have been taken care of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_does_Jaivik_Bharat_Logo_Indicates\"><\/span>What\ndoes Jaivik Bharat Logo Indicates? <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The Javik Bharat logo comprises images of a leaf, circle, and a tick mark.<\/li><li>The circle reflects global holistic wellness. Organic produces are\ngoverned by the Food Safety and Standards (Organic Foods) Regulations, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Which_Food_Products_is_Eligible_to_be_Labeled_as_%E2%80%98Organic_%E2%80%98\"><\/span>Which Food Products is Eligible to be Labeled as\n&#8216;Organic &#8216;?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Food Products which is Eligible to be Labeled as &#8216;Organic are divided into two institutions, which are as follows:-<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Which-Food-Products-is-Eligible-to-be-Labeled-as-Organic.gif\" alt=\"Food Products is Eligible to be Labeled as 'Organic '\" class=\"wp-image-28904\" width=\"571\" height=\"243\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Under NPOP System<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A single ingredient\nproduct can be labeled as &#8216;Organic&#8217; if it is found to be compliant with the\nspecified standards. A multi-ingredient product can be labeled as &#8216;Certified\nOrganic&#8217; if it 95% of ingredients are certified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Under the PGS-India system<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A single ingredient\nproduct may be labeled as &#8216;PGS- Organic&#8217; if it duly complies with the\nprescribed standards. Multi-ingredient products may be labeled as &#8216;PGS-\nOrganic&#8221; if 95% of its ingredients are organic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_can_use_Jaivik_Bharat_Logo_on_Organic_foods\"><\/span>Who can use Jaivik Bharat Logo on Organic foods?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the Jaivik Bharat\nonline portal, India&#8217;s government has established two different institutions\nfor granting certification for organic Foods. These are as follows (a) NPOP-\nNational Program for Organic Production &amp; (b) PGS-India- A Participatory\nOrganic Guarantee Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under NPOP, 28\nAccredited Certification Bodies allow farmers to avail the certification for\nthe export of their organic produce. Meanwhile, PGS-India is supported by 562\nRegional Councils (RC&#8217;s) that helps farmer obtain certification for domestic\nsell of organic foods. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both bodies deal with the authenticity of the organic produces and promote the production of the same. The interested person can visit the Jaivik India portal to obtain the list of the aforesaid Certification Bodies. Without these certifications, the trading of organic products is not possible in <em><strong>India<\/strong><\/em><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/India\"><em><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The following steps can help\nyou avail Jaivik Bharat logo for organic foods:-<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Obtain\nFSSAI for organic foods.<\/li><li>Depending\non the scale of farming, trading requirement, and product type, either applies\nfor &#8216;NPOP&#8217; or &#8216;PGS-India&#8217;. This can be done by contacting nearby Regional\nCouncils or Certification Bodies.<\/li><li>Upon\nreceiving the request, these bodies will send an application form to the\napplicant.<\/li><li>All\napplicants need to fill the application form without error and sent it back to\nthe respective Regional Council or Certification Body.<\/li><li>An agent\nwill scrutinize the application and decides your produce meets the guidelines\nfor authentication. This may involve on-site inspection as well.<\/li><li>After\nsuccessfully completing the verification process, the applicant shall become\neligible to use the Jaivik Bharat logo.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"An_Overview_on_Jaivik_Bharat_Portal\"><\/span>An\nOverview on Jaivik Bharat Portal<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has taken\nseveral measures to clear the vagueness around organic foods&#8217; authenticity. To\npromote public health, three apex institutions of India, i.e., FSSAI, APEDA,\nand PGC India, have collectively launched an online portal to help Indian\nfarmers and agriculturists verify the authenticity of organic food. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An &#8220;Indian Organic\nIntegrity DataBase&#8221; is being utilized by this portal to serve that\npurpose. Apart from that, the portal also provides the following information to\nthe accessee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Producer\ninformation.<\/li><li>Certification\nSystem.<\/li><li>Availability\nof certified organic products<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Important_Points_to_Consider_for_Organic_Production\"><\/span>Important Points to Consider for Organic\nProduction<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The\nimportation of organic foods negates the requirement of re-certification if\nthere is a bilateral or multilateral agreement regarding the equivalence of\nstandards in accordance with National Programme for Organic Production. In such\ncases, a Transaction Certificate is required from the Accredited Certification\nBody to validate imported produce.&nbsp;<\/li><li>&#8216;In-conversion&#8217;\nOrganic foods don&#8217;t have access to Jaivik Bharat Logo<\/li><li>&#8216;In-Conversion&#8217;\norganic food generally refers to non-organic foods<\/li><li>Certification\nunder NPOP\/PGS-India set out the guidelines for handling organic food or\navailing license under FSSR.<\/li><li>In\nterms of Microbiological parameters, the Organic Foods must stay in line with\nthe limits and parameters given in Appendix B of FSS (Food Product Standards\nand Food Additives) Regulations, 2011<\/li><li>The\norganic food must ensure conformity with maximum contamination limit as per\ngiven under Food Safety and Standards (Contaminants, Toxins, and Residues)\nRegulations, 2011.<\/li><li>The\nmaximum residue limit in organic food under Food Safety and Standards\n(Contaminants, Toxins, and Residues) Regulations, 2011 shall be 5% of the\nmaximum limits prescribed or LoQ (aka Level of Quantification), whichever is\nhigher.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Organic foods that lack the Jaivik Bharat logo and FSSAI License number can be potentially harmful to the customer&#8217;s health. The lack of these credentials implies that the given food item is untested and highly unsafe for public health.
