After incorporation, the person authorized is to apply for DSC else he\/she would not be able to file returns or verify the documents. The DSC is also mandatory for filing of important government forms such as GST, Income tax, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It comes in the form of a USB E-Token, wherein the Digital Signature Certificate is stored and can be accessed computer\/laptop to sign documents electronically. DSC reduces cost, time\nand reduces the scope of fraud during the e-filing or other statutory filing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DSC validates an identity of a person signing the document and maintains\nthe integrity of the Data. However, the physical presence of Authorized\nSignatory is not required, but the customers are assured of the documents received\nas it is authorized, and the scope of the forged document is reduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_are_the_DSC_Certifying_Authorities\"><\/span>Who are the DSC Certifying Authorities?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Certifying Authorities are individuals or agencies who have been granted the license &amp; rights to issue\/apply for DSCs. All the original\ndocuments and the self-attested copies are required. The DSC applicant has to\nundergo the eKYC authentication process as well. The authorities also accept a\ncertified document of an applicant which has been issued by the bank\nAuthorities containing the applicants&#8217; database in a bank. Usually, DSC gets\nissued within 3 to 7 working days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_all_Documents_needed_to_Apply_for_DSC\"><\/span>What all Documents needed to Apply for DSC? <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>DSC is divided into three classes that are Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3.\nClass 2 &amp; Class 3 are valid for the MCA21 program. Class 1 DSC is for an\nindividual. In case of Class 2, an identity of a person is e-verified, and in\ncase of Class 3, the person is required to be physically present in order to\nprove his identity with the authorities. The person is required to have the\nduly filed DSC application form along with the photo identity and an address\nproof before applying for the DSC certificate from the Certifying Authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Process_to_Apply_for_DSC_Digital_Signature_Certificate\"><\/span>Process to Apply for DSC (Digital Signature Certificate)?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nprocess to Digital Signature Certificate has to be done with adequate care and\ndiligence, in which the following steps are needed to be accomplished. Those\nare as follows:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP 1: Login and\nselect the Type of Entity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Log in to website of the Certifying Authority licensed to issue Digital Certificates in India. Then you will be guided to the Digital Certification Services&#8217; section. Under &#8216;Digital Certification Services&#8217; section click on type of entity for which one wants to apply for DSC such as for individual or for organization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case if you applied for an individual DSC, click on the &#8216;individual&#8217;.\nA new tab containing a DSC Registration Form will appear. Download the DSC\nRegistration Form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP 2: Fill up all the\nNecessary Details<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you download the form, fill in all the necessary details as\nrequired in the form:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Class of the DSC<\/li><li>Validity<\/li><li>Type: Only Sign or Sign &amp; Encrypt<\/li><li>Applicant Name &amp; Contact Details<\/li><li>Residential Address<\/li><li>GST Number &amp; Identity Details of Proof Documents<\/li><li>Declaration<\/li><li>Document as proof of identity<\/li><li>Document as proof of address<\/li><li>Attestation Officer<\/li><li>Payment Details<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On filling up all necessary details you must affix the recent photograph\nand your signature under a declaration. Check the completion of the form\nthoroughly. Take a print of completed form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP 3: Proof of\nIdentity and Address<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The supporting documentation must be provided as the proof of identity\nand address that has to be attested by an attesting officer. It must be ensured\nthat the sign and seal of the attesting officer are properly clear and visible\non supporting proof documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP 4: Payment for the\nDSC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A demand draft or cheque is ways to make payment for application of DSC\nin the name of Local Registration Authority where you are submitting your\napplication for the verification. You will find the details of the Local\nRegistration Authority according to your city of residence by searching for the\nCertifying Authority licensed to issue Digital Certificates online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP 5: Post the Documents\nRequired<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Enclose all the following in an envelope:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DSC Registration Form\nduly completed<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>All supporting document for Proof of Identity and proof of address must\nbe attested by an attesting officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Demand Draft\/Cheque for\npayment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Address the enclosed envelope to Local Registration Authority (LRA) and\npost it to the designated address for further processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On completion of the above-mentioned steps by filling DSC Form and providing necessary documents and payment, you have successfully completed an application process for <a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/how-can-one-avail-digital-signature-certificate-dsc\/\"><strong>Digital Signature Certificate<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a Validity of DSC?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The validity of DSCs ranges from 1 to 2 years. Once the DSC is expired,\nit can be renewed. The process of renewal of DSC is also same as that of the\nDSC registration on the MCA portal.
