In the past, this sector was highly fragmented and it lacks role clarity, and its unregulated nature. It was mainly due to the absence of any central regulatory authority. The Allied and Healthcare Professionals will provide a range of services like technical, diagnostic, curative, therapeutic, etc. and under the guidance of doctors and nurses, these professionals will scale up the healthcare[1] services.

The bill also recognizes 53 professions of Allied Healthcare Professionals, which will create a working balance between medical professionals and Allied Professionals and will setup guidelines for education, services and regulation for these professionals. The bill has also taken in its view, the most important thing of India which is employment. The bill will provide millions of jobs to people and particularly providing employment to women, and which will be safe. So, in many ways this bill is a landmark in the Allied Healthcare Professions and once it is enacted, it will create multiple benefits.

Read our article:Health License in India – Complete Overview

National-Commission-for-Allied-and-Healthcare-Professions-Bill-2020

The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Bill, 2020 was introduced in the Parliament on September 15th, 2020.
