The Industrial Relations Code Bill, 2020 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 19<sup>th<\/sup> September and on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> September, 2020 Lok Sabha passed three bills. To be more precise, the Industrial Relations Code Bill, 2020 have replaced three laws. Those are as follows:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Industrial Disputes Act, 1947<\/li><li>Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946<\/li><li>Trade Unions Act, 1926<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-left\"><b>Read our article<\/b>:<mark style=\"background: #fffd03 !important;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/occupational-safety-health-and-working-conditions-code-2020\/\">Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 \u2013 Overview<\/a><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Efforts of the Government in Industrial\nRelations Code Bill, 2020<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Efforts of the Government for promptly resolving disputes of the workers with relation to Industrial Relations Code Bill, 2020 \u2013<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"497\" height=\"260\" src=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/image-16.png\" alt=\"Industrial Relations Code Bill, 2020\" class=\"wp-image-17405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/image-16.png 497w, https:\/\/corpbiz.io\/learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/image-16-300x157.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 497px) 100vw, 497px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Proviso for two members instead of one in the Industrial Tribunal. In case one member is absent then work can still be undertaken by the other member smoothly.<\/li><li>Proviso with respect to take the matter straight to the Tribunal in case the dispute is not resolved by mediation party. Now, the cases are being referred to the Tribunal by the proper Government channel.<\/li><li>After recognizing <strong><em>Fixed Term Employment<\/em><\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/definition\/fixed-term-employment\"><strong><em>[1]<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/sup>, workers have the option of Fixed Term Employment as a substitute for contract labour. Under this, the workers will have the benefits of working hours, social security, salary and other welfare benefits like any normal employee.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Purpose for Better and Effective Involvement of Trade\nUnions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>With the purpose of better and\neffective involvement of Trade Unions, a clause for \u201cNegotiating Council\u201d and\n\u201cNegotiating Union\u201d has been made for undertaking conciliation on any dispute. Resolving\ndisputes through conversation will be assisted and workers will be able to get\ntheir rights.<\/li><li>Less time would be required for\nresolving their disputes by going to the Tribunal.<\/li><li>Provision has been inserted to\ngive recognition to Trade Unions at Central and State level. The recognition will\nbe given to the labour laws for the first time. After giving recognition to the\nTrade Unions, it will be able to contribute more positively and more efficiently\nat the Central as well as State level.<\/li><li>Provision has been inserted\nwith relation to \u2018RE-Skilling fund\u2019 introduced for the first time. The aim of\nthis fund will be to re-skill the worker who has been fired from their employment,\nso that they can easily get employed again. For this purpose, workers will be\ngiven 15 days salary within 45\ndays.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The amendments and alteration in the Industrial Relations Code Bill, 2020 have been conceptualized according to the changing scenario over the years. With these changes there will promotion of peaceful and harmonious industrial relations in the country which will lead to&nbsp;growth of employment, industry, income, balanced regional development&nbsp;and will more disposal income in the workers hands.  The committee further stated that these path breaking reforms in the country will help India to attract the Foreign Direct Investment as well as domestic investment from the businessman.
