Keep in mind that the\nrenewed license can serve the validity period from one year to five years based\non whether the applicant has paid the advance minimum marking fee and annual\nlicense fee for the same. If the applicant requests the renewal after the\nlicense expiration, he\/she has to bear a penalty of Rs 5000 mentioned under the\nclause. The BIS could appoint an officer for this purpose that might give a\nsurprise visit to production premises. If the officer finds any disparities\nw.r.t compliances, the owner may have to confront some penal provision. <\/li><li>During investigation, BIS\u2019\nappointed officers often send the selected product to the lab for testing.
