The company must register itself with an ESIC for availing ESI eligibility schemes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>As for workers or employees,\nthey must be covered or entitled under ESI when their earning is less than\nRs.21,000 monthly and Rs.25,000 in the case of a person with any disability.\nThe worker contributes 1.75% of the salary while the employer contributes 4.75%\ntowards the ESI scheme. Please note it these rates get revised from time to\ntime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Workers whose daily average wage is up to Rs.137 are exempted from contributing to the ESI fund. The steps to register THE establishment or company\nwith the ESIC are below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 1:<\/em><\/strong> Visit the ESIC Portal and click on &#8216;Login.&#8217;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 2:<\/em><\/strong> On a new page, click on &#8216;Sign Up.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 3:<\/em><\/strong> Enter the company name, employer name, state, region, email ID\n(that will be your username), and your phone number.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 4:<\/em><\/strong> Click on to checkbox for confirming your establishment or factory\nis under an exclusive labor contract, manpower suppliers, security agencies, or\ncontractors supplying labor categories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 5:<\/em><\/strong> Click on &#8216;Submit.&#8217; An email shall be sent along with the login\ncredentials or details.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 6:<\/em><\/strong> Now that after signing up, one needs to visit the ESIC Portal to\nlog in.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 7:<\/em><\/strong> Enter a username and password received by email and click on\n&#8216;Login.&#8217;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 8:<\/em><\/strong> Click on &#8216;New Employer Registration.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 9:<\/em><\/strong> Select a type of unit and click on submit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 10:<\/em><\/strong> On a new page, enter the unit&#8217;s name, complete postal address of\nthe factory or an establishment, and the police station under whose\njurisdiction the unit is.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 11:<\/em><\/strong> Enter if a building or a premise of the factory or an establishment\nis owned or hired. Click on &#8216;Next&#8217; to proceed.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 12:<\/em><\/strong> Enter the nature of a business and category, PAN details, etc.\nClick on &#8216;Next.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 13:<\/em><\/strong> On the next page, enter the date of commencement of a factory or an\nestablishment and license details (if any).&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 14:<\/em><\/strong> Now, select a constitution of ownership and details of owners and\nclick on &#8216;Save&#8217; after entering all owners&#8217; designation and then click on\n&#8216;Next.&#8217;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 15:<\/em><\/strong> Enter the number of employees working in the establishment or\nfactory and the number of employees earning below the Rs.21,000 and click on\n&#8216;Save.&#8217;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 16:<\/em><\/strong> In a new page, enter the date when the first 10\/20 employees were\nemployed and click on the &#8216;Employee Declaration Form.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 17:<\/em><\/strong> Select &#8216;Yes&#8217; if an insured person is already registered and enter\nthe IP number and date of joining. Select &#8216;No&#8217; if IP is not registered &amp;\nclick on &#8216;Continue.&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 18:<\/em><\/strong> Enter the name of the IP and father&#8217;s name, address, date of birth,\nmarital status, gender, family details, and date of joining.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 19:<\/em><\/strong> Now, click the checkbox and click on &#8216;Submit.&#8217;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 20:<\/em><\/strong> Once all the details are duly filled, click on &#8216;Close&#8217; on the new\npage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 21:<\/em><\/strong> On a new page, select the respective ESI branch office and the\ninspection division. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 22:<\/em><\/strong> Now, click on a checkbox to declare that information provided is\ncorrect and then click on &#8216;Submit.&#8217; You&#8217;ll be redirected to a new page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 23:<\/em><\/strong> On a new page, you will have to click on &#8216;Pay Initial Contribution&#8217;\nand click on &#8216;Submit.&#8217; It will be provided with a Challan Number for a future\nreference.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 24:<\/em><\/strong> Click on the &#8216;Continue&#8217; to pay through a required payment gateway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the payment\nis completed, one will receive the system generated ESI Registration\ncertificate known to your registered email ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A new employer must be informed of the ESI Registration Number after the insured switches from one company to another.
